It will seem like forever getting here, and then, POOF, the season will fly by once it starts.
I wish we could have a "staggered" schedule, where every team only plays every two weeks. A staggered start would assure that half the teams in the country are playing each week. No other bye weeks necessary, since you get one after every game.
It would double the length of the season for us football fans, but more importantly, it would shorten up the dreaded "downtime" BETWEEN seasons.
This should be doable, now that all have finally admitted that it is all only about money, with the advent of NIL, and those silly arguments about being a "student-athlete are just that, silly arguments.

Maybe not every other week but open early with your in state rivals that would be non counting scrimmage with running clock. Then throw in a couple more bye weeks and extend the season where conf championship would be mid December. All playoffs in January and natty to preceed Superbowl first week of Feb. Push Superbowl to mid/late Feb. Then you'd have Aug thru Feb...
