schedule. The 1919 Clemson team was coached by returning 3rd year Head Coach Ed Donahue. For the first time in its history, the team played a 10 game schedule. The team posted a very good 6-2-2 overall record, which included an Unbeaten Home Schedule. But, alas, unbeaten did not mean all wins. That is because, in the last HOME game of the season, we were tied 7-7 by the Furman Paladins.

The season then ended on a muted note, with BACK TO BACK ties, the second one coming in the last game of the season on the road against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs by now were playing at Sanford Field, which later morphed into Sanford Stadium.

Georgia Tech once again owned us at Grant Field, 28-0. And I do mean owned us. Every game between 1907 and 1974 was played in Atlanta. In those games, Clemson was a beyond dismal 4-32.

The annual victory over the Coots was accomplished once again on Big Thursday in Columbia, with the Tigers prevailing 19-6. This ran the all time series record to 13-3-1 in favor of Clemson.

We once again traveled to the Orangeburg County Fairgrounds to take on The Citadel, prevailing against the Minidawgs by a score of 33-0.

All game results are below:

Erskine W 53–0
Davidson W 7–0
At Georgia Tech (Grant Field) L 0–28
At Auburn (Drake Field) L 0–7
Tennessee W 14–0
At South Carolina (Big Thursday, Columbia) W 19–6 (Clemson leads series 13-3-1)
Presbyterian W 19–7
The Citadel (Orangeburg County Fairgrounds) W 33–0
Furman T 7–7
At Georgia (Sanford Field) T 0–0

With all the modern talk of conference expansion, it should be noted that at the time, Clemson College played in a conference called the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association. This conference was made up of TWENTY FOUR teams. It consisted of most of the current SEC, several from the current Southern Conference, Clemson and Georgia Tech from the current ACC, and several from other current conferences.

I haven't really saved any of them yet. Hopefully Wickerpedia will still be out there next year if I decide to do it again. Maybe I take on something simpler next year, like World Peace?
