I concur, and the slicing machines have been upgraded so now they can achieve transparent meat, they are cutting it so thin nowadays. It has changed a lot since covid. I probably eat one of their Mini subs on avg 3-4times a month. If starving go to their regular. Still way better than Subway!

Publix & Lowes Foods have great subs..both use Boars Head

meats and cheeses. I was told they both put 4 oz meat on a 6 inch sub, and Subway only puts 3 oz. I suspect Jersey Mike uses even less.

Palmetto Subs (used to be Sub Station 2) #19 is the sub all other subs aspire to be when they grow up. We just got a Jersey Mike’s in Florence and it’s not bad but not pulling me from the previously mentioned.

Subway II in downtown Sumter or Manning or Hickory NC # 19 Super Special with all the meats, lettuce, tomato, onion, salt/pepper/oregano/crushed red pepper with no mayo or mustard, but with oil and vinegar is as close to the sub sandwich I got as a freshman at The Study Hall as you can get. I live in Lake City and will sometimes drive 40 minutes one way to either of the SC locations for this wonderful meal. My first experience with them was in 1978 at their now closed location on US 378 near Shaw Field in Sumter....

Jersey Mike's is pretty darn good, and they have a very good rewards club. The turkey is fantastic.
Jimmy John's is ok but very skimpy with the meat.
Subway is not even meat or tuna for that matter.
