remember who Fellers split time with at QB? One of the earliest "platoon" QB systems I can think of.
'74, the year of the much vaunted "Undefeated Home Season". 7-4 overall. Red Parker's one good year.

was the "option running" QB. It obviously worked well at home. On the road, meh, not so much.

Found it interesting that it is dated Jan 21,1952 and was giving a summary of a game in 1974.

Loved those program covers that season. My Dad took me that year to watch us play UGa and UNC. Two wins! That was a fun season. Tough loss in Knoxville. Should have gotten a bowl bid!

I’ve watched that 1974 Tennessee game. It’s on YouTube. Lost 29-28 on a last minute 2 point conversion. Condredge Holloway scrambled under much duress and somehow got off a prayer pass that was dead on the money to their receiver. It looked like a prayer answered but Holloway routinely made plays like that.
