Ben Boulware

Dec 5, 2015, 8:45 AM

I read a post yesterday that claimed that Ben Boulware was hurt. He isn't hurt, he was banged up about three weeks ago, but he isn't hurt. It was a "stinger" according to Coach Swinney. Does anyone else have any news on this?

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

Watching the replay of the Carolina game it looked like he was favoring that shoulder to me

Nothing was said about it... If there was anything serious we would have heard something by now.

He's hurt, and I think it's more than a stinger...did you

see him miss a tackle last week when he tried putting his other shoulder on the player?
Props to Big Ben for wanting to be out there, even playing through the pain, and doing as well as he is.
Hope we win and some time off gives our guys time to rest and recoup.
Go Tigers!!

Something is definitely wrong with Boulware. He played that entire SC game soft. There is a huge difference between being hurt and injured. If he is INJURED, he doesnt need to be in there.

Players sometimes won't do the noble thing and pull themselves out for the good team when they're injured. We had a QB years ago (whitehurst?) playing with a bad shoulder and told no one. Threw a potential TD pass into the dirt at our receivers feet in the end zone because of that shoulder. Too proud to give up what he worked so hard for I guess.

Kyle Parker had the bad shoulder.

No, Ben is not "hurt" to the point of not playing. Nor is he 100%. He is banged up like a lot of our players, yet they persevere and play through it. You couldnt drag Boulware off that field today. Are you kidding me???

badge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who's saying anything about his being hurt THAT badly???

Dec 5, 2015, 9:06 AM

I think it's obvious he's injured, playing in pain, but he's still gritting it out.
However, we've all seen players that need to take some plays off but would NEVER admit it.
I'm looking forward to a BIG WIN tonight!
Go Tigers!!

This...No question he is hurt and more than a stinger

Dec 5, 2015, 10:06 AM

Kid has a heart althe size of Death Valley and that is why he has played. I love every second of it but he has been hurt.

Watch the replays. He takes on blockers with one arm and gets pushed out of the gap. Also trying to shoulder tackle with his good arm.

We need to sub him in and out with...

Dec 5, 2015, 9:00 AM [ in reply to Re: Ben Boulware ]

#30, I think. He has a shoulder problem, and is favoring it. Hood is a big, tough back and we will need everyone hitting hard.

Go Tigers!!

Ben has a deep bruise to his shoulder. Cannot lift his arm above shoulder. Has a brace to keep him from lifting it. A liability when making tackles. But will play.

Watch the play where he got hurt. Ben was coming into

Dec 5, 2015, 9:13 AM

the backfield full speed low with his shoulder down and an offensive lineman got a bead on him and really creamed him. You could tell it hurt bad.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ben is heart and soul of D. No deep bruise will stop him!

Dec 5, 2015, 9:16 AM

His brace prevents him from lifting arm up and Jalen Williams may need to relieve him a bit more from time to time with heavy run game coming at us. But Ben's leadership, toughness, football smarts, etc. needs to have him out there as much as we can. Coaches tried saying that game it was just a stinger and we just decided to rest but it has impacted him more and there is no time to heal. Danny Poole will have him ready as possible!

At this point most players are not 100% but I think you got to go with him until he just can't.

I'm less concerned with his shoulder and more concerned with his filling the wrong gap on runs.

I don't think it's an issue of not preparing like he was but a LOT of the big runs we've given up lately is him in the wrong gap. Some have been on blitzes but several in the Syracuse game were just busts.

Heck in the USUCK game he completely crossed over to BJ'S gap and the play went outside to his right. Got to fix that. Just do your job and it works.

The old "in the wrong gap" message again. WHO is in

Dec 5, 2015, 9:57 AM

the best position the entire game? If EVERYBODY did their job every play the opposition would never score.
