Here's the thing about vaccines

You can't un-get it, but I can always go in the future if there comes a time I feel it is necessary.

I'm not anti-vax. I think it'd be wise for anyone in the risk category, those extremely over weight, diabetic, etc to get it.

But I had COVID, i've checked my antibody levels, extremely high. Do you take antibiotics when you're not sick?

You can't un-get it. Once the virus is in your body and it's replicating, you better hope that your body is able to mount a satisfactory defense against it. Vaccination greatly improves one's chances of doing that.

This isn't to discount the (likely) value of having antibodies from prior COVID infection, nor is it to minimize the importance of vitamin D status, zinc levels, and other therapies such as ivermectin - all of which seem to help.

It's also not to discount the importance of not being overweight and having chronic medical conditions.

Generally speaking, I think it's very risky to not get the vaccine at this point.

That is perfectly fine. As is it is fine for people to believe it is very risky to get the vaccine.

I've had flu vaccines when I wasn't sick

Small pox vaccine, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, RSV, chicken pox, and probably a few more vaccines I can't even remember, and wasn't sick when I took a single one of them. Getting older I imagine I will add a shingles and pneumonia vaccine to the list, even though I'm not sick.

What's this got to do with antibiotics?

Did you get those vaccines after you had those disease/virus. That is his reasoning for not getting vaccinated. He had covid and was fine. I'm not sure how anybody could argue that he should get vaccinated.

No, I never got most of those diseases

Because I took a vaccine, and more importantly other people did too. Freedoms were destroyed when schools started requiring those vaccines. I mean if this vaccine rights crap was around with polio, we'd still have it. Actually I've had pneumonia. Three times. And I will get the pneumonia vaccine. I've had the flu 5 or 6 times, at least. I get a flu vaccine every year. Most of those other diseases don't exist to get, because of.....vaccines. Others are less severe, because of vaccines.

At some point people started taking flu vaccines, and they had the flu before, and probably will have it again. Same for pneumonia vaccines.

And again, what does any of this have to do with antibiotics?

Theory is, you get a boost from exposure

whether from a vaccine or a repeat infection. Extreme example, but shingles is something you get only if you’ve had the virus before. People who are around kids with chickenpox seem to keep their immunity longer than others. But now that kids are vaccinated against chickenpox, that’s likely to end and they will need to lower the age for the shingles vaccine again. Shingles hurts pretty bad and can cause permanent nerve damage in around 5% of cases.
