People on the left have no concept of how the economy works. It’s why they think big government and throwing money at every problem solves it. Because they are clueless. The government has been throwing money at problems for generations and it hasn’t solved anything. All it has done is make problems worse. Not only has it made problems worse but there have been an infinite number of unintended consequences. The left has never heard of a cost benefit analysis. Covid is proof of that!

I was actually shocked at how badly the Supreme Court misunderstands the economy, which they proved when they made their ruling about college athletics recently. Kavanaugh talked about competition and the free market. There is no free market when it comes to football. Football is a monopoly at every level. There is no free market for amateur athletics of any type. Less than 2% of college football players will ever make it to the NFL. For there to be a free market there have to be options. For many if not most professional athletes their only option is manual labor or a minimum wage job.

Professional sports and the lottery are perfect examples of why giving people money, of why Socialism, of why universal basic income, and reparations, will never work. Because most people that win the lottery or play professional sports are bankrupt within five years after they stop playing or after they win the lottery. You can’t give poor people money and think they will know how to manage it. If they knew how to manage money they wouldn’t be poor to begin with. Not in America. Because there are too many opportunities for even the poorest person to become middle class, which happens every day because democracy and capitalism, while not perfect, are infinitely better than any other system!

You actually have people that win the lottery calling it the worst thing that ever happened to them. They call it a curse. Dumb people, ignorant people, brainwashed people, lack self-awareness.

The Democrats are right, it is Russian subversion, but not with Trump, but going back to the 50s and 60s. Yuri Bezmenov was warning us back in 1984. We are now in stage 4, normalization. And this happened because the elites in America, the ones that control our institutions, Hollywood, the media, academia, are communists and totalitarians.

Elites on the left, Democrats, love Socialism and communism. FDR was hugely sympathetic to communism.

with more consideration it seems like taking from the rich and giving to the poor. That's true if we consider the wealth to be strictly defined as natural ability and/or skill development. Imo, the Robin Hood syndrome is the affliction America suffers.

Some say the present system isn't fair to those who aren't paid to play. They are not forced to play; they do it for love of the game and/or for a good education. One who is determined so that he seizes his education rather than having it forced upon him can achieve all he desires at any university; he can get it on the internet or even at the local library and doesn't have to play football for the opportunity.

I hate the present system but the law of our land supports it.

I hope this will end someday with the NFL developing farm teams. NCAA football would be better off and the NFL could pay for the training and development of those who are only in it for the cash.
