I mean I went to the university of South Carolina due to my home situation at the time, but I wore my Clemson gear to class every day. The year usc went 11-2, they loss to LSU. After that game I got in a big fight with 3 next door neighbors in copper beach because they took the loss too hard.

That scholarship is not to be a football player but to become a Clemson grad. A lot of othere kids would love that chance. That is NOT ok.

It certainly is a bad look. When I was a freshman at S.C. I had an opportunity to attend a home game against Clemson. I wore Clemson gear on a regular basis while attending class, but not at that game. I think I wore blue jeans and a gray t-shirt. Partially because I didn't want to get my a$$ whooped, but also because I thought it was poor form being in the student section and all. I quietly cheered for my tigers as we took the victory. This would have been a better look for Cornell. Although I definitely understand being a life long fan of a team and wanting to continue to support them

Now do you really believe Dabo buys into all of this bs that is being spewed by supposedly “the greatest fans in the US” hell no. He was at that game, I think if he thought it was a bad look he would have quietly suggested he change to a neutral colored shirt. If Dabo didn’t think Powell was 100% Allin he wouldn’t be playing for Clemson. Perhaps he is a lot better judge of character than these people that are going in this young man’s twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages with nothing but juvenile hatred

No, I cannot relax. When I contribute to a fund to pay for his scholarship, is it too much to ask for him not to wear the opponents team shirt? Especially that of a rival that is widely held in contempt by most Clemson folks.
Is he aware the Clemson University students/alumni are Ever Loyal?

Okay, I get it. Yeah, the optics aren't great, to say the least, but I have to admit that if I had grown up a fan of a team in a different sport than I happened to be good enough to get a scholarship to play at a collegiate level, I would still probably rep that team in that different sport. Possibly not as publicly as this, but I can't drag the man, knowing I'd feel the same way.
Again, yes, the optics of a scholarship athlete at a different school wearing another school's colors won't be the best, and it probably wasn't the best choice, but I know that many "fans" have different allegiances, depending on sport, so it borders on semantics, as far as why it actually matters.

I'm an IPTAY donor and have a student in her Junior year at Clemson , and this just doesn't get under my skin at all . Not in the least .
If I were a graduate of Clemson University I may feel differently , not sure .
Cornell was a bigtime football player out of the state of North Carolina and he has been through it all since he's been on campus . The meetings , the practices , the weight room sessions ...all of it .
I am gonna give him a pass on wearing the UNCheat shirt .
That's just my take .

This highly recruited guy has been a disappointment so far. He was the best kickoff returner I have ever seen in high school, let's see if he can regain his form? His attitude must change, from what I have observed.

You know your argument is very lacking. Judging a grown ### man about his outspoken hatred of a President in no way compares to. College kid that is on scholarship to Clemson University but from the state of NC, has been a NC bb fan his entire life and makes a poor judgement to wear opposing teams t-shirt for a bb game. He could have chosen neutral colors and avoided all of this hate and vitriol, but just perhaps he is as loyal to NC in bb as he is to Clemson in fb. There are many people on this board that graduated from another school who claim to be die hard Clemson fans. As long as he gives 110% to Clemson Football and represents our University in an upstanding manner then all of these people need to get off of his social media. Any Clemson graduate or fan that goes on a student’s social media platforms to trash him and tell him to leave our school is a horrible representative of Clemson

Clemson fan. When she was at Arkansas, she came to a Clemson game, and shared pictures of herself in her Clemson gear. Bryan Compton, her coach, told her that Arkansas was paying for her to go to school, not Clemson. She hasn't publicly worn any more Clemson gear.

Out of our 85 scholarship players, how many are from the state of SC. I would venture to say 2/3 or more are not from SC. Being as they are playing football I would say they all had a team they grew up pulling for. Do you want all of the 5* recruits that are lining up to come to Clemson in 2020 to see Clemson fans attacking a football student/athlete on every social media. Maybe 1 is from SC, but the rest are from all over the nation

I just feel bad for the basketball team. They deserve nothing but support from the other scholarship athletes. They work very hard and it’s a real shame.
People obviously have the right to wear what they want, but it’s just a little sad that they could feel unsupported when they see this picture and tweet.
