Here lies a serious flaw in Saban’s personality

Nov 16, 2019, 2:48 PM

When the Tide are winning it’s all gravy, so his demeanor and attitude are a reflection of his teams grit and power.
But when things are falling apart and it starts with a loss, you start to see him as a negative denominator. Why in the heck is Tua even playing period? Mississippi St. was never gonna be a threat to win this game. The back up Jones is very competent and would have no problem filling in just as he did against Arky. Shame on Saban, he only cares about his stature and not his players health. What a poor decision to even play Tua today. I would hope he retires and turns the page, get ready for the draft my friend. Why should Tua risk his future livelihood for a coach who could careless. Just a point to think about no matter how you feel, you can try to justify your own holier than thou argument about commitment, that kid has given enough, and he has a bright future ahead of him, if healthy.
If Saban stays long enough we will get too see a losing season once and he will quit. His type of personality only works if he’s a front runner with blue chips everywhere.

Wait, Saban has a personality? I don't remember ever seeing the man crack a smile.

It’s called integrity. Coach Dabo has it in spades. Very few other in the college ranks have it.

I dont see any issue with Tua playing today. He played all of last week and they were playing a road conference game...you dont take a win for granted. Plus he was 14-18 for 250 yds before he got injured...sounds like he was fine. He just got hurt up 35-7...you could argue Saban shoulda pulled him sooner but again Dabo played Trevor last week when we were up 42-0 in the 2nd half. Imagine if he had gotten hurt...what people would have said.

What the difference is: Tua was in with an injury. If

Trevor got injured by being in the game when the Tigers are up big, it’s because he is in the game. He’s not going into a game he shouldn’t be playing in the first place.

IMO

how is it different than when we played DW w a torn up knee

Nov 16, 2019, 6:29 PM [ in reply to What the difference is: Tua was in with an injury. If ]

or KB w a bad ankle. The trainers and kid said he was good to go. In fact Tua was balling when he got hurt.

Freak injury that has nothing to do w ankle.

Tua probably should not have played last week either.***

I gotta say, that is quite a lot of assumptions to the negative for a man who is I believe the most or almost the most winningest coach in college football history. I am absolutely positive he cares for his players else he wouldn’t be as successful as he has. Really a silly viewpoint to have, because people who achieve such success as he has are extremely caring And passionate people which is why they make it. He does have quite a solid outside demeanor but don’t confuse that with not caring.
