to lose to LSU and is it right for all of you to just hammer him for it and to start calling him troll, coot, etc?????
Here is my credentials as a tiger with Orange Blood:
1) Contribute to IPTAY. 2) Clemson graduate. 3) Watches every news outlet about Clemson. 4) Since graduation from Clemson, watched everygame either live, TV, internet. 5) When we lose, it ruins my whole weekend. Heck the loss to the chickenshIts still hurts me.. 6) When we win, as if I won a million dollar feeling. 7) Follow tiger football news during the entire year. 8) Contributor financially to this board. 9) I have more than 600 posts on this board (I know it is not a lot).
With all of this, I can not say my opinion on this board without being hammered as my tiger pulse indicate. It is really sad that I cannot engage in thought provoking conversations with my fellow tigers..
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Lets get them Cajun Tigers. We have a chance and we have to show at our best and LSU have to do a mistake here or there...

and handle (or even beat) LSU. LSU has been in a league of their own (Along with Bama of course) when it comes to physical/smash mouth football that works for them. They have top tier athletes each year. Then again, so does Clemson.
I worry about the battles up front in this game, but I think Clemson has a chip on our shoulder & I think it's going to be a dogfight / #### of a game that we CAN win. I'm not going to sit here and predict a Clemson victory though.
Thanks for everything you do for Clemson.

so with that said, I think this game against LSU is the best matchup for Clemson. The reason is because nobody is expecting us to win, so if we lose, then it is just a write-off. If we win, then it makes a big statement about the direction of the program, and momentum heading into next season. Clemson is headed into this game with nothing to lose, but I think that LSU has more pressure on them to succeed.

to win and we've got a chip on our shoulder, especially with Clemson being a 10 win team with superior athletes.
I disagree with thinking if we lose it'll just be a "write-off" though. It's the total opposite IMO. If we lose this game it'll bring more attention to the fact we haven't "won that big game" still in a while.
Now, if we do lose but it's a close loss in a dogfight, I think that SHOULD earn us some respect. I'm not a believer in moral victories though & all I wanna see is Clemson come out and bring the hammer to LSU. Go Tigers (The real Tigers).

I don't want a moral victory either.. Heck, I want us to win even with a bad referee call but I want a W. I would even take if the instant replay should have reversed the call and they did not and we still got the W. I WANT US TO WIN and lift this stigma what we can not win the big game and spank a good SEC team. That will satisfy until 9/1 otherwise it will suck until then and I'll be still here watching for my tigers come 9/1 win or lose.

I'm pretty much with you 100% there.
First off I'll say again that I always believe Clemson is going to win & even though LSU is probably the best team we'll see all year, I think Clemson can win for a variety of reasons.
.. but I'm the same way. If we lose this game I have a pretty good feeling we'll get bashed for "still not winning that big game" & that would really tick me off all the way up until next season's kickoff. While maybe we haven't "won the big game" (however you want to define that) I still believe Clemson has been one of the better programs in the country the last few years & Clemson is still on the rise. Didn't say Clemson has been elite, but we've been #### solid & I only see us getting better.

we win the games that we are suppose to win.
The only game that we lost is usuck game that we were suppose to win according to vegas but several outlets though thought we were going to lose.
I am talking about games where we lost to Duke.. You are correct, Clemson is on the rise and I'll take a 10 season any day. We want to win it all and we are close and we can smell it but cannot touch it yet.

in the 2nd half. For whatever reason though, whether it be a lack of adjustments or just pure fatigue, Clemson didn't finish the deal.
I truly believe that's going to change soon though. Maybe as early as next year, but hopefully as early as New Year's Eve.

Never said I "knew" the players have a chip on their shoulder, only that I would assume (think) they do.
..And what difference does it make? Motivation can make a difference. Maybe not all the difference in the world, but sometimes just enough.

the same message.
i try to manage my pulse between 91-94% because there was a post long ago that felt the most trust worthy folks on the board fell in that range.
the reasoning was that a poster in that range delivered enough truth, which hurts, to have been td enough to be considered truly objective.
i'm a little high at 95% so i've got room to play and will save it until the game.
feel free as a contributor to td the honesty in this post.

I'm rather new n' learned the hard way that even the slightest speculation or even supplying simple truthful information may lead to a reduced pulse by the Clemsonest of Clemson faithful.
But seriously man, if you really don't think Clemson's gonna win, I think you should be reevaluating your loyalties.

the game has to be played. If someone forces me to put entire retirement on this game "straight up", I would chose LSU. Has nothing to do with loyality and it has to do with facts. You can ask yourself the same question, and if you are forced to put your entire net worth on this game, which team you would chose?
Trust me, if we win this game, I'll be the happiest man.
Merry Christmas and Happy New years.

I'd have to think that through a bit. I just think both teams are matched fairly evenly this season: As absent as our defense has been this year, I'm just not impressed with LSU's offense output n' I think Tajh n' Sammy are gonna put it on 'em. Call me crazy but I'm still convinced we win this game.

The one thing I feel good about going into this game is the
Dec 26, 2012, 4:56 PM

fact that LSU's passing attack isn't all that & with our issues in the secondary that helps. LSU can line up and run the ball as well as anyone in the country though, which is the case every year. I think if we can at least make them somewhat one-dimensional on offense (Even if they do run for 150-200 yards) that increases our chances x2 at least.
It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

forgot to add, that i was there when we had the fridge and his brother.. That was an awesome D line. If memory serves me correctly, HW (Hershel) did not score on Clemson. I was there in the stands.. I could be wrong about this fact but that is what I remember.
Having said this, what worries me about the LSU is the adjustment that coots did in the second half where they shut us down. LSU has better players (in my opinion) than usuck and they can get us in many 3 and outs. It will be a long day for us. I do think we will make it close and it is not a repeat of WV. Clemson has not been blown out in any game this year. I think this is a statment game for Clemson and we have a lot to gain with a W. Heck most LSU fans are upset that they are playing us according to their tigerdroppings.com...

It's tough to express the sentiment that Clemson is playing a bad-a$$ opponent on New Year's Eve, but you expressed it well. LSU will be tough, but if we play our best game and get some breaks, we may just have our best year-end celebration in quite a few years. Go Tigers!

As much as I want Clemson to win and as hard as I will be pulling for them, I just need to see it. I need to see us STEP UP and beat a relevant/very good team. A team with an awesome defense that hits your in the mouth. I feel we are headed in the right direction, but I just don't and won't feel confident until OUR TIGERS start proving it on the field. The ACC is weak. It's been down for a few years now and I think that hurts as we run through most of the teams on our schedule, then when we play a tough & tested team, they seem to be better prepared for the "battle". Just my two cents worth.
However, I do hope you're ALL IN for the game and I hope OUR TIGERS shock everyone and beat LSU!
GO TIGERS!!!!

a good one. If we win I will be so excited I will probably stay up all night celebrating but after last yr's Orange Bowl, I promised myself to never be that disappointed again. I am like you, I want to win but being very cautiously, getting a little optimistic while still see the logical side of it too. If we lose I just hope it is close. Saying that, I want the players to play a hard fought game and for the coaches to have them pumped to play.
