ESPN power 5 super conference, all writers except David Hale

Had Clemson in their conference of 15. That dude seems to have it out for Dabo:
“It might seem reasonable to include Clemson, as the Tigers have made the College Football Playoff six straight years. But Dabo Swinney would sooner quit and join the NFL than concede to this mocking of the collegiate model. Amateurism still matters to some people.”
That turd looks for anything to bash Dabo or the Tigers. You have to imagine some of the media from name brand schools out there hate/resent Clemson for its success on the field love these digs. Clemson would be automatic to anyone with a brain.

sports stories anymore. There is absolutely no sense of objectivity or even a standard. Even with a rhetorical question like this, 30 years ago if all these writers were in a room and someone included Missouri they would not only be laughed out of the room but probably excluded from ever being allowed back into the room.
I understand that "back in the day" everything was run by the good ole boy network. I understand things have to change but with the excessive and bloated nature of these websites, not to mention podcasts, sports journalism has been degraded to so low that any opinion is just thrown out there.

I didn't take this as a bash on Dabo. I took it as Dabo having a set of principles that don't align with the soul selling that it would take to form a super-conference.

Dabo’s principles have nothing to do with whether Clemson should be on the list. Imagine if one of the top soccer teams was left out of this Euro super league?
David Hale has written crap before and I love to call it out.

I’m aware it’s hypothetical, and I can see why you say he’s praising but if it happened I’m sure you have a difficult time finding many Clemson fans okay with being left out bc Dabo is above it. Lol

Obviously I'd want to see Clemson in the best league possible. I just think he took a different approach to picking his teams than just selecting the top 15 teams and didn't see it as a slight against Dabo or Clemson and didn't see anything wrong with his reasoning. If anything he bashed Texas.

I love me some David Hale bashing, I do. But he's not bashing Clemson so much as explaining why they wouldn't join the Super League. He does the same thing for Notre Dame in the same paragraph (they'd rather be an Independent).

I hope he's right about Dabo. I would rather see Clemson in a student athlete league than semi-pro. Yes the money would be less, but the feel would be right, and Clemson fans would still fill the stadium.

If he wants to throw a little tongue n cheek jab... go for it.
What bugs me is the insistence to include FSU. But it is for a top 15 and not a top 10 and as such - after typing out my thoughts - I am no longer bugged.
