May 5, 2014, 5:59 PM

Tahj was money on the bomb. What should we expect arm wise with Cole?

I recall Cole chunking up some nice deep tosses in his

two previous spring games, prior to this past one. I don't think the long ball is going to slow him down.

Cole has been a backup and doesn't play for SOS.

Only a classless prik will call for a deep pass in the fourth quarter with a 35 point lead.

No - the few times I've ever seen him play he.....

was mostly playing mop-up in one-sided games for us - either throwing short passes or just handing off the ball. Have never seen him have to throw a deep pass.

He nailed that deep pass to Artavis Scott in that spring scrimmage video.

The real keys are :
Finding that open receiver ANYTIME he's open
Protecting the ball and fewer TO's

I like those odds myself. Not really worried about the deep ball.

Do we have WR's who create separation, run preciseroutes?***

I have do not remember the deep pass, but I was impressed with his quick reads and quick, accurate short passes. Look at his passing percentage.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He threw perfect passes against FSU.

May 5, 2014, 8:47 PM

Of course the game was a blowout but there were some nice balls in there. I remember thinking, "Why didn't we put him in sooner?"

Man, have you not heard, we don't have any one fast enough

to go deep so it doesn't matter.

What's been most impressive about Cole that I've seen is

May 5, 2014, 10:44 PM

how quick he is getting guys to the line and getting plays off. He's a full 3 seconds if not faster than Tajh was on the play clock. He's looked that way consistently in spring and in some of his late game duties.

Our offense could be even faster this coming season under Stoudt.

Is this Stoudt's last year of eligiblity ?***

Uh, watch his high school highlights, spring games, etc

May 5, 2014, 11:09 PM

I remember the headline after his freshman spring game........" Cole Stoudt digs the long ball. I don't think it's a concern. It would help to have Sammy and Martavious, but we gave the talent to go deep.

Hey may not be as good as a runner, but I think he is a better decision maker than Boyd. He doesn't get rattled like Boyd either. He may not put up mesmerizing numbers this year, but he will be solid and we will win a lot of games.
