Has any NCAA program..

ever played the number 1 team in both basketball and football within a 3 day span? Clemson will, of course, have done that after Monday night.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

I don't have a specific answer, but...

You may not be old enough to remember it, but in 2010 (calendar year), U5C played the #1 team in the nation in all 3 major sports--and won all 3, and finished the baseball season as CWS champ and #1 themselves.

The basketball and football victories were in separate school years, but the baseball team repeated its CWS chip in 2011. It was truly remarkable for almost any school to have that successful 3-sport run, especially the Fighting Chickens who have such a lackluster athletic history.

You know their rivals' accomplishments (that's mostly us) live in their heads because they have never found an adequate way to recognize the few achievements they have attained.

Their 2010 football team only went 9-5 after upsetting Bama, but they did beat us that year. Their basketball team actually finished with a losing record, 15-16, after beating #1 UK. They also lost to us. The baseball team that won the first national title lost the season series to us but did beat us back-to-back in Omaha on the way to their truly remarkable run of 22 straight postseason victories. (The only time in my life I've been jealous of their fans.)

So maybe they felt like if they bragged about their national title we would respond that they couldn't win the state? IDK, but that would be a pretty minimal response to a national brag.I think sometimes they don't know how to brag because they believe so much in their superiority they think winning should come naturally. LOL. Of course, recently they haven't had to worry about bragging effectively because their men's sports have so little to brag about.
