I was on the phone with one of the Permian coaches last night (I am sure you can guess why) and we were discussing the upcoming season. I mentioned that because it's Permian, I would love to come in for a visit and see Harris play (maybe against Odessa or Midland). He told me if we decide to do it, we will get the rock star treatment and get tours of the facility and access for photos and videos of not only Harris, but a gameday in the home of Friday Night Lights.
So now I ask...would that be interesting to any of you? For a couple of us to go down there and kinda let you know what gameday is like at Permian and get to know Harris a little better?

Outdoor JUCO nationals was held there both years I was there.
The second year, they were having the JV scrimmage on either a Wed or Thursday night while were were touring the stadium when we first got there.
When we got back to the hotel, the game was on the local TV station!! Imagine watching a JV scrimmage on TV!!!!
Also, worthy of note, the were the biggest 8th and 9th graders I've ever seen in my life, and 3 kids were in neck braces. LOL

Oops… as I was saying, my best friend’s dad was on the 1st ever Permian state championship team and I got to spend some time there with his family. The stark difference between Odessa (blue collar oil workers) and Midland (white collar oil executives) makes for an incredible rivalry. I think it would be a tremendous experience.

Nah, I’ve lived that all my life. Permian is also a past power. It’s been a while since they dominated and they did it with tiny players not guys like Sewell.

If you want to see Texas Football, I would recommend somewhere like Aledo, or Allen, or Westlake, or Southlake Carroll. All those schools would thrash modern day Odessa Permian. But, of course, they don’t have a Clemson commitment so I understand
