Wasn't from lack of trying. Quite a few tried qualifier route. Kyle Stanley is taking time off for a new baby so he didn't even try.

Lucas putter has reared its head this spring. Made cuts but hasn't finished. His best shot was at The Masters where he had a good shot at a really high finish which may have been enough to move him top 60 WR.

Lots of Tigers on lower tours trying to get their card, or get it back. Doc just hasn't been able to put it together for 4 days during a tournament. Again, made cuts but hasn't finished. He's not even top 125 Fed Ex points anymore.

Other than that, we haven't had a dominant golfer come through the program in the last decade +.

Interestingly, only 4 LIV golfers made the cut - DJ Coot, DeChambeau, Patrick Reed, & Richard Bland. Most didn't even qualify, including Poulter, Schwartzel, and Westwood.

Aso some don't try the qualifying. I had a former major winner say once his exemption was up he wouldn't. It is too tough a grind- were essential his words.

My goal when I played a lot was to be good enough to get into a qualifier and just try knowing full well I would never get in. I just wanted to be one of the thousands who tried

Joel Dahmen, who is tied for the lead, said he wasn't going to qualify because of that exact reason but his caddie talked him into it.
