We shouldn't be #1 now and wouldn't be if it weren't for last season. Always more pressure on #1 anyway. Let Alabama be # 1 and their fans will already be counting it as the championship. We know how that worked out last year.

We may drop to #4 or #5. Alabama won big, Ohio State won big, Auburn won big, Oklahoma won big. We survived an unranked team. We will likely be fine for the CFP if we win out, but today was an ugly win.

preseason. It's fine with me, as long as we are in the Final Four, that's all that really matters. We seem to do better as the Hunter than the Hunted anyway, Dabo can spin it to the team as disrespect and charge them up.

I had this discussion last week.
End of season rankings should be pre season rankings for the following year.
Until you lose or get a reason to shift around, it should stay.
I am well aware that the team is not the same from season to season. That’s fine. I just don’t believe that the guessing game of what the new team will do is any more accurate of a measure. (I’d be happy to be proven wrong).
I didn’t get to watch the game because of working, so I don’t know how bad we actually were.
Maybe we deserve a lower ranking, maybe not. 20 in a row isn’t bad and that’s probably getting the best effort from everyone we play.

I hope Alabama, Georgia and LSU are ranked 1-3 tomorrow. SEC fanatics can then party and celebrate their championship.
