This.
Baseball is a game of streaks. Pitchers get in a groove where what works comes naturally without thinking about it. Once some adversity comes, they start thinking about aiming the ball rather than just throwing it, and their ERA shoots up. Hitting is the same way. The fundamentals of putting the bat on the ball come naturally and a player gets hot. Same player hits a skid for one reason or another, and starts trying to muscle his way out of it. Coaches have to beat it in their heads to put the ball in play and make the defense make a play. You can not muscle your way out of a slump at the plate. Put the bag on the ball and the HR’s will come. Everyone of those boys knows that, they just need to be reminded. Once they start doing it, they’ll start having fun. When the fun starts, the wins will come.
Anyway, glad to see them win a close one. Beats what we’ve been watching lately.

Sad but he isn't even close to hitting the ball. Missing by more than 6 inches or takes one down the middle.
