Gregg Marshall

Jan 27, 2014, 9:05 AM

He will never come to Tigertown, he would be taking a step back.

Sorry guys, this is just reality.

His next gig will be at a big basketball name type school.

Not saying he tried for it. That is the point he could have tried and probably got it if he wanted. I am saying he stays for the forseeable future at WS.

Marshall would never ever coach at Clemson he grew up a die hard dirtpecker and his whole family is the same. Knowing that I am still not sure he would go to USuCk he felt scorned when they hired the pretty boy from Western Kentucky. I know his brother has said that he is very happy at Wict. ST.

GT or wake would be very bad for us. Those two schools have the money and the history. If he lands at one of those two. they will be a final four team in 3-4 years easy. If he lands UNC this year or next watch out b/c we will never compete with them at home or away (not that we compete now). He would never lose more than 3 games a year at UNC.

He turned down NC St, he's not going to WF or GT

Jan 27, 2014, 9:32 AM

he's not coming here either. He has it made where he is, and won't/shouldn't leave until a true traditional power comes calling

Nobody wants to work for Yow.

Jan 27, 2014, 9:35 AM

That is why state has issues.

GT would be a great spot. He can just recruit ATL lol

But yea I think he is holding out for UNC/Duke/Cuse all of which will be open in the next 2-4 years.

He is fiercely loyal to his players***

Too bad for both Clemson and South Carolina that they didn't go after him.

He is too good for that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Marshall is in a unique position at Wichita State

Jan 27, 2014, 11:29 AM

He recruits mostly JuCo's and is able to develop his players against scrub teams in his league. He would not be afforded the same luxury in a BCS conference.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why does he get mentioned here so much?

Jan 27, 2014, 12:27 PM

He is a good coach, but there are lots of good coaches. By all indications, he is a jerk and hard to work with. People here frequently mention that he is from Greenwood. Who gives a crap?

Most definitely an a$$hat. Look at his comments this weekend about Michigan State.
