have been full force.
Even early on covid before masks were cool, it was shocking how much more masked up Harris Teeter was in Greenville compared to the grocery store in Mount Pleasant.
Maybe I'm just not going to the right places in Greenville, but only recently have people begun to slowly poke their head into places without a mask.

Don't know where you grabbed the C&P from, but you may want to check your sources.
The entire state of SC has had 9,536 deaths.
GREENVILLE COUNTY HAS HAD 998 DEATHS.
The entire state of NC has had 12,723 deaths.
MECKLENBURG COUNTY HAS HAD 943 deaths.
Your point still stands, but your numbers are incorrect. Mecklenburg Co has had 85 deaths per 100K. Greenville is 190 deaths per 100K. So yeah, over twice the death rate in Greenville County.
And then to inject some relativity/rationality, the rural counties in SC are much worse. Bamburg (dem), Fairfield (dem), and Lee (dem) counties are both over 350 deaths per 100K. In other words, the death rate for rural (dem) SC counties are 4-5 times as high as dem Mecklenburg Co. But less than twice as much as pub Greenville County.
