Pressure on Travis. I am going to presume we stop their run game for the most part as well. Will Wes then send 5-6 and keep Travis harassed or will he drop back in 2-Deep protect the corners and then force FSU's trash kicker to try field goals.

We have been weak stopping the run between the tackles all year. And, our DL is getting more beat up every week.
One friend of mine, who is extremely knowledgeable about football, expects Shipley to have 150 yards on the ground and the Clemson team will pass 250 on the ground.

I think our speedy LBs will help contain Travis. I think we'll see a similar 2nd half where our depth takes over.

Here is what most Nole fans are expecting.
1. Early in the game, Clemson will try and shut down the running game with the 7 man front on first down.
2. If that is successful, Clemson will mix it up to put pressure on Travis. 4, 5, and 6 man rushes. Changing defenses on virtually every play trying to confuse the OL and force Travis to make quick decisions. Emphasis will be on pressuring Travis, but also keeping him in the pocket
Goodwin has shown he has the athletes to send pressure from anywhere - corner, safety and LB blitzes. Also fake blitz and drop a spy on Travis.
The outcome of the game will be fairly simple. If Clemson can shut down the run AND pressure Travis, Clemson wins easy. If they can't, then it could be a case where FSU hangs around and keeps it close.

Just listened to a pretty straight forward.Nole podcast. Their D against our O could be pretty even, but they have some issues stopping the run. They are depleted on the line.
In the flip side, their O against our D is a mismatch. Clemson being near 100% is a big problem. Our 2nd teamers would start for them.
They say our biggest weak spot is punting. We are #117. The opposing team gains yards when we punt, although we have only done it 29 times this year. So find a way to make us punt, hope it is a close game in the 3rd quarter and then turn it over to Travis on almost every play for the rest of the game.
