Great job, Ryan. Article was spot on.

Maybe people could look past the QB for a second and really understand whats going on.

I am with you, the defensive struggles are probably a one-off though Wes is going to see a lot of RB screens so he better figure it out.

Btw, do we have an RB screen? Would be great to see especially with our OL issues.

Maybe if they’d actually take their hater shades off they’d have noticed that he played pretty well on Saturday and way better than his backup.

We had this happen at Texas once. No matter what he did, a good majority of Texas fans were going to hate Chris Simms and those people suck.

I’ve been looking for that RB screen for years PBT. Don’t know why we don’t run it. It is such a great way to get the ball to a RB with some space to run. And on the other side, that screen has always been the best way to slow down an unstoppable pass rush. We are going to see a lot of it this year. We have been rushing 5 a lot so far. Bet we see 1 or 2 of those starting to sit at the line of scrimmage to stop that screen.

This is an interesting point. Maybe we'll see them move some of the WR screens to RB screens. WR screens are quick developing plays that are largely an extension of the running game. RB screens are more like blitz-beaters. I guess it will depend how much pressure teams bring against us.

For a good RB screen to work the OL has to quickly get out in front and make the blocks. It would be nice to test them to see if they can rise to that occasion and make those screens a real weapon for us.

There definitely has to be some downhill blocking for the RB screen to work. I think Shipley would be the one for the RB screen and his speed in the open field.

Our pre-season ends after this week and I'm really looking for a complete game against La Tech. I am hopeful this is the week we kind of put it all together.
