Through 7 seasons at Clemson

Jan 13, 2022, 8:11 PM

Oliver Purnell went 138-90 with Clemson’s highest standing in the ACC being 3rd place in 2007-08. On the other hand, Brad Brownell, in 7 years, has gone a total of 124-103 with the highest standing in the ACC being tied in 4th place (his first season). I would like to think the ACC was harder to compete in back in 2003-2010 than it has been in the last few years under BB. I understand the sweet 16 season, but other than that, I wonder what he’s accomplished during his tenure.

and wins about 55% of his games.

That’s fine but if that was the criteria for & record of our Head Football Coach, we’d be screaming bloody Mary (not the drink).

That’s perfectly fine, and I am fine with BB staying. However, do we accept mediocrity in our basketball program? Because the status quo can stay the way it is as long as we are “okay” and “accept” winning at 55 percent. I have accepted and expect nothing more until I see better results. This season? Looks like we have a good team even if we need to finish the deal in some of our games this year. Hopefully, I can be proved wrong this season (I want to be proved wrong) although I’m looking towards the same old same old.

Almost everyone has quit on Brad. How many folks are going to the games or even watching on TV? The only ones supporting him seems to be the ADM. He has let us down too many times. We need a fighter on the sidelines to set an example for the team. We need a coach that can adjust better. We certainly need a coach that can recruit better.

Seems you have let him down also!

Maybe the best job, period, in America

coaches in the shadow and umbrella of the west zone, where football reigns, so just keep the team in the middle or so of the ACC, make the tourney once in a while, win a tourney game here or there, work hard, keep the Clemson name pure and the program clean, and oh yeah, you get 2 million a year. Not bad.

Good of you to cite the Clemson Career of a Head Coach who could not get 'out of town' fast enough......middle of a Sunday night if I correctly recall?

Also, will you be posting the NCAA Tournament record and win total for Coach Purnell?

This gentleman managed not to recruit Steven Curry. Why, I do not know. There was not even a mention of him being recruited at that time.
