Gonna miss what remains of Johnstone & the Union

Spent loads of time in the tin cans - lived in F4 and C4. I know the Union is old and relatively dumpy, but it's still the University Union.
You know you're old when the hospital you were born in, your high school, family church, and college dorms all no longer exist.

Don't know why its taking them so long. They haven't used the union or Harcomb dining hall since I left in 2016.

Harcombe hasn't been used since 2016?? What's being used for west campus dining? I've been through the Union a couple of times in the last few years and nothing much was going on, but still, it was being used.

You don't know what old is - I lived in the barracks (#1) that was there on that site before Johnstone.
Tom Clemson and I used to eat grits together.

My roommate and I lived in E340 for all four years. We watched the Union being built and were able to buy beer there for a while (18 was the legal age then). The "cans" were supposed to have been temporary when built, but should have been demo'ed in the 70's.

I lived on A-6 my freshman year (1967) and D-5 my sophomore year. You could go out onto the roof of Harcomb Commons from the backside of A-6 but you had to beware of the "A-9 Bottle Bombers." Ah, the things you could do with the metal panels (walls and doors) with a socket set! Sweet memories.

I’ve ever seen. How they got those 100 million cockroaches to work in concert and hold that building up, I’ll never know.

I'm glad they put Sirrine on the historic register. Otherwise my kindergarten would be my only school still standing!

except for the family church, I am with you on all those other places being gone. My old high school has been absorbed twice over. The hospital I was borned in was partially demolished, and what remains was converted to county offices. Even the chemical plants I worked in prior to my last 4 years in industry are both now owned by different entities than when I worked there. Time marches on over the hill.....
Oh, forgot the kicker. I spent my first year in B9, and last three in F4 Johnstone. Other than summer sessions, the tin cans were all I ever knew. The high rises where students were housed during summer sessions during my time were quite a culture shock indeed compared to the cans.
