Gonna have to outguess Louisville moving defense

We know what to expect out of Louisville’s offense but we gonna have to outguess them on what they do on defense If they put 8 people in the box we will not be able to run the ball just like NCState could not Going to have to devise some plays passing that catches them off guard They will assume we will run on first and throw on 3rd and long They will not play us straight up

It reads like Louisville's gambling defense is exploitable by big plays. Attempting to grind it down the field for 12 play drives may be hard; during the attempted 'long drive' there is usually a series where the 'gambling defense' makes it more likely to string together 3 'good gambles' and stop the drive.

On the other hand, if the offense is able to recognize mis-matches on the defense, then big plays would negate the necessity for long / grind-it-out drives.

Not that anyone is celebrating this, but with Louisville's best DB out for the season (after his injury against NC State, no less), then one would suspect that Louisville's D will be even more susceptible to giving up big plays.

Let's hope so!

Not sure our offense is capable of big plays.

Our offense hasn't recognized mismatches this far. And when they have they e rarely exploited it. I have hope but no confidence we have come very far in changing that…
