Update on vaccination- no complaints

Jan 22, 2021, 8:21 PM

for a change- site at Greenville K-Mart was run very well today. Pleasant experience after the CDC scheduling was so poor- I arrived a few minutes early (if you ain’t early, you’re late) and they had 2 long lines- 1 for those with appointments & 1 for walk-ins. The line moved fast and smoothly & I actually had my shot at the assigned time. Worker there said they expected to give 5,000 shots today alone. WYFF News tonight said that site will take only those with appointments at least for the next few days - going to run low on vaccine so make an appointment if you plan to go there

K-Mart isn't exactly where I want to shop for a vaccine...

for mass vaccinations because of large parking lot and space inside - hope you already knew that

.......Then you are making a mistake. A great place to give shots & they were efficient, helpful, polite & from standing in small line to completing our shots was 38 minutes. And that was for 2 people who had appointments 2 weeks later. We now have our 2nd shot schedule there Feb 5. Great experience. The way it should be done

Why should location matter..

You get the same vaccine that you would get at Dr office. Person giving the injection is certified to do it

Glad it worked out....

Keep us posted about the second dose and how you are feeling.

Stay well!

Received mine today at the VA in Columbia. Was remotely surprised at how quick and professional they were, if you know anything about the military....Grade A+.

I know a little about the military

Jan 22, 2021, 10:44 PM

A little about the VA too

Sounds like you got there before the word got out big time. A friend at lunch today said he went by yesterday and said he had never seen the parking lot that full. The line was all the pay past the end of the building. He turned around and left.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He should have stayed if he had 30 - 40 minutes

Jan 23, 2021, 8:03 AM

That's all it took - the parking lot and lines were like that at 8:30 and I had my shot at 9:03 (appt. was at 9:00 and I got in line at 8:30).

Had my first shot today at St. Francis Downtown Greenville. Arrived about an hour before scheduled time and it took about an hour. Very efficient, giving about 75-80 shots an hour. So far no side affects. My second shot is scheduled for the K-Mart in 21 days, all other sites already full.

I was lucky today...

Was at grocery store and ran into a friend who told me one of the Walgreens in town was giving vaccine to 65 up today only. I went straight there. Took only about 20 minutes. They said they did it on spur of moment thing. My Dr had told me she did fine on 1st shot but 2nd one she had a little fever, aches and headache next day but went away by next day. She said that is a sign your body is accepting vaccine and body working for your immune system

Clover--- Glad you finally got the vaccine after all of the problems you encountered.

And to all of you others who were able to get the vaccine, that makes me happy.

Glad it all went well.

A very good friend of mine was working there today. Not sure which line she was working.

Otherwise, my parents were able to get scheduled at Self Regional this past Saturday. And, they have their follow-up second round scheduled as well. My Mom said both of them were doing well this morning.
