I know that. I am not an idiot. I realize it is the 2016 season. But I have seen some things label them as the 2016 national champs and some label them the 2017 national champs. Last nights game was the '2017 National Championships.' Seems weird to me the apparel above would read 2016 national champs. There doesn't seem to be consistency and a standard.

All of the National Champions Merchandise will have 2016 on it. If it was Merchandise from the game in Tampa it says 2017 Championship Game. Both are officially Licensed product All Merchandise will have a hologram on the front of the shirt.

The official playoff logo is 2017 - so separate the playoff from the season. it's the 2017 playoff championship but the the 2016 National Champions.
