Georgia broke DJ, not Streeter

Dec 2, 2022, 8:40 AM

I know I know, y’all love to blame the coaches for everything especially running with the QB regressing narrative but imo Georgia broke DJ. As we have seen DJ doesn’t handle mistakes very well, and not everybody does. He came into that game taking over the reigns from Trevor and laid a goose egg mainly from getting terrorized by their DL all night long. That was the first all world defense he ever faced and imo it completely took his confidence away. He made it look easy against ND, but couldn’t get it together on the national stage being the guy. Imo if we would’ve found a way to win that game, DJ would be a completely different QB. Look at this year, played great all the way up to the first bad game and it’s been downhill ever since. The coaches have given DJ more opportunity to prove himself then any other coach in the country would have.

If that is true; it should have been his last game***

Not saying it’s true or it isn’t just my opinion. Don’t really know who else we would’ve put in last year, but this year I think they should’ve rode Cade after the Syracuse game. We had a QB who just bolstered his confidence in a comeback win only to crush it and go back with one who was shaky. I also don’t think Death Valley is his favorite place to play which is weird, his stats are way better away then at home.

I've wondered that myself. I am sure he knows that a lot of people in DV want the next guy and it puts way more pressure on him than he normally feels. Then again ND was pathetic too.

Which was right after his bad game in Syracuse, he’s not good a bouncing back mentally. If he was as strong mentally as he is physically he would be an all time great. If he transfers back home and lights it up I’m not going to be surprised at all.

Maybe he was messed up before Georgia and they just made it more obvious.

This is the correct answer.

Could be, depends on how far his confidence issues go back. Did losing to ND them watching Trevor smoke them mess with his head??? We will never know but maybe one day there will be a story about it I’ll definitely read. Also can’t overlook his parents divorce, no matter a persons age a bad divorce can wreck a person.

Can’t blame two years of performance on

Dec 2, 2022, 8:45 AM

a single game (unless it’s something like injuring a throwing shoulder during that game).

i100% agree. that was a monumental game

Dec 2, 2022, 9:03 AM

UGA lacked sideline confidence and sense of elite compared to Clemson. Watch their players on the sideline.

UGA won off of a pick 6. And DJ just never played the same after that. While UGA played national champ from there on out.

The difference between success and failure is so slim. And that was the game, unfortunately,

my one UGA friend said the same thing

I told him Streeter broke him

I would’ve said the same thing even if I didn’t believe it, no way I’m admitting it to them ??

So, You're Telling Us That

Dec 2, 2022, 1:13 PM

Robbie Caldwell is the reason DJ career has progressed as it has. That's reasonable and more correct than some may think.

Thomas Austin has done pretty well and I really like the recruits he's picking up. That might be the best hire Dabo has had since BV.

He played ok this year as the coaches were slowly opening up the playbook but as soon as he started playing poorly they quickly closed that down and went back screens and "safe" plays.

I disagree as far as 2022 is concerned

Dec 2, 2022, 2:01 PM

It’s true that DJU was never good last year, and once he got injured it was REALLY over for him. This season it looked to me like he was slowly improving as the season went on, and he actually looked pretty confident against NC State.

In my view it was SYRACUSE that finished DJU off forever. He was just plain awful in that game, so bad that Dabo did the unthinkable and put CK to finish the game. Since then DJU has been toast. He’s DONE. The evidence I’ve seen on the field since then, ESPECIALLY in last week’s disaster, indicates absolutely no reason why he is still the starting QB here other than that Dabo decrees it.

Re: Georgia broke DJ, not Streeter

I think Streeter could be a lot better at calling plays. However, I doubt he is coaching DJ to go back in the pocket and just plant his feet and stand stationary. I truly have not seen any QB's do that except DJ. Early in the year like in the Wake game DJ was moving his feet in the pocket and throwing some good passes. Then something has happened, and he just can't get it back. I think he's just lost his confidence and I doubt he gets it back this year.

I think the game tomorrow either is close if our DL can rise to the occasion and finally dominate. If it's a blow out for anyone, I think it's the Tar Holes blowing us out.
