Georgia

Nov 28, 2021, 6:12 PM

I was kinda pulling for Bama to get knocked out of the playoff picture this weekend by Georgia.. but after a few ignorant Georgia fans in my area trying to trash talk Clemson for not making the playoffs one year, I hope Bama destroys them because I doubt any of the other playoff teams can do it. Michigan would probably be best but I doubt they keep it within two scores. Georgia fans are right up there with Gamecocks and probably could be worse if I had to deal with more than a hand full.

I live and work smack dab in the middle of DAWG country. You are right... there are some annoying UGA fans and some are down right disgusting and hateful.
But some Tiger fans are too. Especially if alcohol is involved!! Every fan base has the uncouth.
I work in an office full of them( UGA fans) and their attitude is one of nervous anticipation because of the game this weekend.
There is always good natured jabbing and lots of laughs. And yup, I walk right in that office on Fridays with my all orange Clemson sweatshirt!
I will be cheering for the Dawgs later on today for my co workers. ( In my Clemson gear)

As always GO TIGERS!!!

And for a few hours on Saturday afternoon .....
GOOO DAWGS!!!

40…so not real close. I was in DV when UGA won 33-0….such a fine day. Like I said, I married in and am a contributing IPTAY member. Why does TNET post more UGA news and comments than UGA boards? Are we that rent free in your heads? When will CU drop off the palmetto trophy, being that UGA owns this state?

I actually used to like UGA. I thought we had some great battles with them in the 80s. There was rivalry, but mutual respect.

But lately I've seen the true colors of many "fans". They remind me a lot of South Carolina fans: they've been irrelevant for so long that they're overcompensating.

I wanted Bama to lose but

Nov 28, 2021, 6:22 PM

Would rather them lose this week. I think if they had lost, they would have had a better shot at Georgia, and a better shot at getting into the CFP as a two loss team (conference champ with a win vs GA). I will have to hold my nose and pull for Georgia this week.

That will be really hard for me. Georgia had a really good weekend. Their path got easier, in my view. What I want is for anyone but Georgia to win the natty. Maybe I should pull for Bama, because they might be the only team left with a shot at the CFP that could beat UGA.

an offensive line. They could easily be 9-3 now...barely beat mediocre Auburn and pitiful Florida! And TAM may fall out of the top 25 this week. I think the only ranked team they have beaten is Ole Miss! UGA will really have to schitt in their bed to lose to Bama! Michigan may be most likely team to beat UGA.

Again, I thought we were comparing hatred of Georgia vs Alabama? You didn't like the word "rival" so I'm trying to figure out why you're so fascinated with Clemson. You've gained 1500 points on this board, meaning you've been around awhile. So what gives? You're not our "rival" nor is Alabama but Georgia fans love them some Clemson. Hmm let's use some critical thinking skills. Maybe it's the proximity to each other (local) or the history (historical) between the schools. So. Dense.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

AFDAWG: something tells me that's incorrect...

Dec 3, 2021, 9:05 PM

The real reason for the sometimes open hostility toward Clemson that night was because the average UGa fan is thinking, "..how is it that Clemson can win 3 nattys and we can barely win ONE????". After all, and you are a great example of this, based on your posts, you feel UGA is superior to Clemson and yet you have nothing to show for it. That should have been UGA whipping Bama's butt that night, but it wasn't...it was Clemson. Swinney said it best; "..I know we're not supposed to be here, but We are and I am..". Could anything better sum up UGA's hatred for Clemson better than that? It had NOTHING to do with the SEC and everything to do with CLEMSON.....

I don’t like UGA either but things seem to have fallen into place for UGA this year. They played the worst Clemson team in 7 years and and weak Florida team and a down Bama team. Any of the last 3 national championship teams beats this years UGA team by at least 3 touchdowns. No one in this years CFPs will beat them. If they don’t win it this year, they may never win it.

Their offense was bad against us. Ours barely got better. I’m just unsure if theirs has either. They’ve got a capable QB. But after what we did to SC, I’m suspect of what their conference play has taught us. The best win I’ve seen out of them is against Arky (no disrespect, they were playing lights out then and got handled).

I’ve seen Alabama get tested and they have grit. Say what you will about the Auburn game, but they gave their bitter rival a match they didn’t seem to want to bring to any other matchup. Alabama is still Alabama just like Clemson is still Clemson.

I’m 100% sure Kirby won’t expect them to lie down, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Alabama puts UGA in their crate Saturday while they eat dinner.

Georgia's defense is "the real deal."

Cook (#4) is a much better running back than Zeus White. Cook can tote the mail.

Bennett IV is a very good QB. Has two good TEs in Washington and Bowers. McConkey is good. Pickens should be back this week.

I hate to say it, but I think they will beat Bama by at least 2 TD's

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Georgia

Nov 29, 2021, 9:52 AM

Certainly agree with you about James Cook. He is the go-to-guy. Bennett worries me some. I think he gets away with a lot of bad throws. Not sure he'll be able to do that in the SECCG or playoffs. Plus, I worry he will panic under pressure. Fortunately for UGA, I don't think the offense is going to need a bunch of points to win.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're gonna be happy Saturday. Everyone thinks UGA will dominate Bamas offense but they don't realize how much UGA is the perfect team for Saban to gameplan against. They don't have a mobile QB or the Wrs to beat UGA. Saban will stack that box and let his LBs eat. The blue print to stopping their run game is already out there(Clemson laid the groundwork). I think Youngs legs are gonna be a huge issue for UGA and I think Bama makes more big plays by alot.
