He called the game last night... how can he still have lsu in top 6,let alone 5. Look at their resume. An overtime, roll the dice squeak over Bama.
A 3 pnt win over an Arkansas team that didn't have a qb. All of a sudden their close wins over fla and Ole miss are nothing. Maybe 8th, right ahead of Bama.
Still towing the esecpn and hoping to get 2 sec teams in. Pitiful kirk.

I’m confused by that as well.
I’m sure he’d say it’s about how they look now.
I heard him say last week he was ok with the close win over Arkansas because it was a trap game after a big win over alabama.

Then what?
The whole race to the CFP is dumb. It should be 4 of the conference champions. Not based on tv rating.
It would be better for college football across the nation.

Yes. They should. At some point any playoff system becomes “win or go home”. That should start with the conference championship games.

Where division and conference champions go to playoffs. The coot is trying his best to rag on the ACC, meanwhile the coots would be bottom feeders in the ACC just the same as any other conference.
I'm glad the coots are feeling frisky after beating UT. It will make their loss to us even more painful.

Southern cal ( USC). I stayed up and watched the southern cal game cause we need them to lose one. They will play notre dame next and then the pac 12 championship.

And it has worked perfectly.
But there is no dominant team this year and even the usual suspects have struggled numerous games this season. A 12 team playoff this year especially with all the games on neutral fields would be incredibly interesting!
But I do think with a 12 team playoff only the championship game should be on a neutral field. Do it exactly like the NFL.

My son suggested this a few years ago. On the same day as the conference championship games, play 3 more games seeded by the committee matching the top 6 teams not playing in conference championship games. In recent years that might have included a division runner up from the SEC or Big 10, Notre Dame or UCF or Cincinnati. The eight winners advance to a 4 game playoff which would be played in existing bowl games. No byes, everyone plays the same number of games. The 2 teams in the National Championship game play one more game than they do today. The knock on this is that the loser of the conference championship games are out so if say GA and Bama are both undefeated, the loser is out. At some point any playoff system becomes win or go home. Why not start with the conference championship games? This is really a 16 team playoff that values winning your division and your conference championship.

I like 12 teams and the 4 highest rated conference champs gets a bye, The next 4 games are home games for the 4 highest seeds and then the winners play the top 4 at the champions home field. You would then be down to 4 and play the semis as a bowl game and then the natty.

I don’t get Herbstreet nor any other talking head from sports TV. How can anyone put LSU anywhere near the top 6? A loss to FSU wher they had to frantically comeback to have a hope of winning. They wear down 24-10 in the fourth. A slimmest of slim win over Bama that could’ve been a L. And a spanking by TN. …..????? LSU May be #10

Don't stress. Ohio State will trash Michigan and Georgia will trash LSU. If we beat the wanna be Carolina Saturday and the real Carolina next Saturday, we are in with Georgia, Ohio State and TCU.

If he is the first to get on the ROY bus, he will get criticized since his son is on the team.
(I don't agree with this mentality.)
If our second half looked like the first, I think we would have been back in the conversation, but we started beating ourselves in the second half again...
Too many unforced turnovers to stay competitive with other big teams. I still feel we should be ranked higher, but we also need to show we can play a complete game. Need a statement game this week against the ***** to show we are the best 1-loss team in the nation!
