the bowl impact of OU and TX leaving the B12. If the playoffs remain small and you still have Cotton, Sugar, Peach/CFA, Orange etc. - what will those look like? currently Cotton and Sugar are SEC/B12- you would think when those contracts expire that opens up for ACC/SEC B10/SEC matchups...... to take place. Also, what if the Alliance moves towards bowl tie-ins amongst themselves and shuts the door on the SEC making them play lesser conf foes or force them to pay a bigger share to Alliance schools to play with them.

And be the first of the season so loser isn’t dinged as hard for a loss as it’s to a hood opponent early on
Playoffs should replace bowls entirely
Get a playoff and bowl money and excitement of new season is better with a real game instead of something lame
Wins all around

Interesting take about week 0 games. These kickoff games are in fact being driven by bowl organizations like the Peach in Atlanta. I agree it could be the only way some of the lessor bowls survive. The December slate of exhibitions is obviously antiquated and must be allowed to die off.

The Bowl concept, exhibition games in warm cities, as a reward to moderately successful teams is outdated. The best players do not want to play in meaningless bowls where they could get hurt for nothing.
These bowls may survive:
Cotton Peach Fiesta Sugar Orange Rose
These exhibition bowls seem unlikely to survive to me:
Gator Sun Liberty Music City Independence Outback Citrus Alamo Belk Pinstripe Music City Camping World Quick Lane Texas Holiday CheezeIts Alamo Birmingham Redbox
I have no problem with lots of teams playing exhibition games in December. But I think most will admit the players not going to the major bowls and hoping to be drafted will not be playing in the very second tier bowl games. The idea that teams invited to such secondary bowls must agree to sell thousands of tickets is crazy. If the exhibition bowls can assure each team X dollars for playing , then let them play. I could see 10 of them making it. The rest should die.
