Gamecocks are going to whip the dawgs in athens this weekend

I used to feel sorry for them, but watching spurrier win there is akin to watching a donkey win the Kentucky derby. You have to sort of chuckle when you realize that he has quietly taken them from comical doormat to legitimate contender.
Sure, UGA left a lot on the field against clemson, but I thought our offense played a lot worse than their defense played well. I have a feeling spurrier saw enough of them in our game to mess with their heads for 3 quarters, then inflict a prison rape style beat down on them in the 4th.
It makes no difference to me as to who wins that game, because as far as our ranking, we have to take care of business in Columbia either way.
My prediction is that SCU's Oline and Dline inflict their will on the pups and sends the UGA program into a tail spin heading into games against Tenn and LSU.
Just my 2 cents...Carry on.

Did you watch SC/UNC? SC's offense and defense looked very lackluster. I think Georgia will beat them by at least 10. The opening better line was Georgia by 6.

Not sure I agree. I believe Georgia will be a different team come Saturday afternoon. They are backed into a corner, playing at home, and most likely playing for the SEC East. Even with the loss to us they still can achieve all their season goals.
I also think they may be playing for their Richt's job. Back when Tommy was on the hot seat it seemed the players played well when they thought their coach was threatened.
I also was not impressed with South Carolina's defense. Not as good as they were last year. If the O-line can give Murray some time, I think he carves them up.

I see your points and I agree. I was unimpressed by the accounts of the usuc game last week, and they played a pretty lousy opponent at their place. ugay played a very good Clemson team and almost pulled it off at our place in an atmosphere like they don't get to see much.

and they seemed to clean some things up. I've learned my lesson on assuming they will play the same way in game 2 or 3 as they did in game 1.
Still a loss though. Bobo seemed like he had a good plan. D-Co had a good plan and good movement. UGA may not have 1 as good as #7, but their 11 are better than SCAR's 11.

I really thought Murray looked scared during the 35-7 drubbing in Columbia last year
I saw a very scared somewhat jumpy Murray Sat night. He really looked lost in the replay close up shots
The D really got to him yet somehow they put up 545 yds against a D that seemed to be hitting hard
I guess those stats are a bit misleading due to a few big plays

SCU's Oline should not be underestimated and it is hard to get a clear read on their pass rush against a team like UNC. Murray will be pewping blood before all is said and done.

We got to Murray 4 times and they still ended up with 35 points. I don't see how that SC D-Line is going to stop Gurley and Marshall and if they can't do that, Murray is going to kill them on the play-action.

take way 3-4 plays, and our D shut down Gurley and Marshall. Georgia scored 3 TD's in the first quarter, and we shut them down for 35 minutes until the Gimme TD in the 4th.
Sorry, UGA looks very beatable this year, their defense has more holes than van full of strippers.

Honestly I thought the play action pass was what would kill Clemson. However, your DL prevented it from happening so I'm not sure why you don't believe our DL can stop it.
The same with stopping Marshall.

We didn't exactly shut Murray down. He didn't get in the end zone through the air but he was 20/29 for 323 yards. If he can do the same against SC, it'll be a double digit win imo.

That sure is a broad statement based on a lackluster performance against a really crappy UNC team.

hey, I cant stand richt, either. I know some of you guys dont want to hear it, but UGA's defesne is bad. We should have beaten much worse if not for our Right tackle forgetting he was on scholarship and our receivers forgetting how to catch.

If USUC plans to beat UGA this week, then they had better recruit a totally different team than the one they have. UGA will run all over them. I expect UGA to win by 10-17.

This Dawg agrees... I think we will be 0-2. 1) you can't play two emotional games in a row. I think we won't have the energy we had Saturday night. And 2) I think Carolina is probably better than us anyway. We have never been able to have an answer for Clowney, and their QBs always get the best of our secondary. I hope I'm wrong, but I'll be surprised. It might be ugly.

I was thinking the same, and your schedule is brutal. You guys are in danger of staritng 1-3, or even 0-4 if the team implodes against Tenn. I am curious how quickly your fan base would turn on Coach richt if this happens.

Not really sure why Richt is taking heat for the loss. He clearly had his boys ready to play and lost by 3 on the road to a top 10 team. Not to mention that dude is one of the best recruiters in the country. UGA would be foolish to fire him.

I always thought there were a contingency of bulldawgs that were critical of him not winning an SEC title, or playing in the NCG. It seems like a aweful problem to have.
But seriously, if you lose this weekend and limp into knowville, those voices will get louder.

I agree. Its sad... I mean, I was there in the early 80s, and outside of those Herschel years, this is the best run we (Georgia) has had. The three thorns in our side (Spurrier, Urban, and Saban) also will happen to go down as three of the greatest college coaches in history.
I think it stinks that some Georgia people aren't satisfied unless they are better than Saban's Bama teams. Who are we to think we deserve that? Seriously. So if we make it through the first 4 games 2-2, that isn't bad considering all the rivalries involved. I just wish the fans would back the team. We have a lot of great things to cheer about.
Seriously, how many teams in the country could hang with Clemson in that atmosphere Saturday night? Not to mention hanging in there when things are going wrong all around us... losing #1 receiver for the year, losing Gurley much of first half, lots of penalties, turnover inside our own 20. I like our team alot, and think we're competitive with whomever we play.
Congrats to Clemson. On Saturday night, you guys were probably the best team in the country. Losing that game is not the end of the world. (Spoken from a Dawg who has many fiends and relatives who went to Clemson and will give me crap all year)

UNC had one of the best off in the nation last year yet you claim it isn't good because of everything it lost yet uga lost almost the whole def that you were able to make look stupid yet most of you talk as if Clemson was just that good. UNC's game plan was a smart one. Quick passes and roll out to the opposite side of the field of clowney. They never through a pass down field where the ball sailed in the air at least 20 yards and our D line still looked good. Once we went up 17-0 in the 1st quarter Spurrier went conservative. We had our entire 2nd string in on def for almost the entire drive that UNC scored on. When they got down in the red zone we brought the first string back in and ended up getting a penalty for having to many players on the field because of how fast UNC was running their off. Bruce Ellington played like 10 snaps the whole game. Will be back this week @ 100 percent. Rory Anderson also returns to action. Most of you just want UGA to win because it will make clemson look better but we will be better than UGA on both sides of the trenches. We stop Gurley then we stop UGA. We stopped him last year and will do enough again this year. If UGA wins I'll come eat my crow and never post here again.

Did an educated Clemson fan make a comment about UGA not being used to an environment like DV
Don't let the rest of the fan base be tainted by your foolish orange colored glasses.
DV was electric Sat night and is for most every big game
However, if you don't think UGA plays regularly in that type of environment then you really need to watch a bit more football
DV is nice and loud but so is Tenn, Fla, LSU, Bama, Arky, USC, etc
I truly believe Richt when he said the crowd was loud but we play in that environment most weeks. Just think if the ACC had more Clemson, FSU type stadiums, then you would understand that DV for a big game is just like any other top 20 program with passionate fans!
Now it is a personal favorite of mine due to gowing to games most of my life and enjoying the mountains and lake in the background and just that area of the country. However, it isn't everyone's cup of tea and loudness and intimidation is found in many other places as well

UGA 31 - SCAR - 21

Game may be a 6-3 final score who knows? My thinking why UGA will win are as follows:
1) In Athens 2) UGA had a better tune-up game prior to conference play. Yes, more issues were exposed but now they can address them this week 3) Because I want this to happen

Only edge Clemson has on def is LB's and they didn't look amazing against UGA. We have better DB and a better D-line.

hmm, your LDE looked pretty good, but your NT could not plug the middle on our interior. Across the board clemson has much better depth on the Dline. Heck, we did not even play all our guys and still sacked Murray 4 times and save a few plays, stoned gurley and marshall the majority of the game.
your linebackers just lack experience, but the talent is there.
It would be nice of me to say our Dlines are equal.

What? Do you believe we haven't played in hostile environments?
We've won 2 of our last 3 games in Athens. We've won 3 of our last 4 in Clemson.

y'all didn't look to impressive in wk.1 vs. the tarholes, and yes, i know the biggest improvement of a team comes between wks. 1-3, but ugay will do the same. y'all said ugay would win wk.1, well, y'all were just a week behind. they will start 1-0 in the sec.

I'm just curious what we would have had to do to have an impressive performance against UNC?
Did we need to hold them to less than 100 yards?

On Saturday. Let me guess..... Clemson had them wore out. Or coots have horse shoe up rear end. The best WR was out due to acl. Tune in Saturday and see what happens when UGA plays a real def. What's more funny is Clemson fans think UGA has more of chance than the UGA fans think they have but that's wishful thinking on you guys part. Worried were gonna expose UGA and then that big win starts to look a lot like that auburn win last year.

A real offense will temper those D-line expectations. Maybe everyone faked tired on Thursday? Could be, but I think UGA knows this is make-or-break for them after the loss. Your offense looked great with 11 freshmen on the 2 deep

Over 500 yards and over 30 points. Nothing you say defends those stats. We played a fast tempo offense with a heat index of over 100 in the first game if the season and shut them down for the most part. I'll bet you UNC puts up major points with the rest of the schedule that remains. Yet clemson fans are fast to point out what UNC lost yet brag on what you did to a def that lost 3/4 of its starters.

it so hard for you to see that ? maybe, just maybe, there is a tad bit of a talent difference between unc and ugay, ya think ? ugay does more of a reload then 99 % of ALL other cfb teams.

over a quarter of their yards. No, can't defend the overall score, but please, don't act like UGA and UNC's offense are in the same area. UNC's schedule is mostly a joke, so you could be right about thier numbers, but that garbage performance by them is nothing to brag about. UNC's recruitment isn't what UGA's is. UNC is not ranked. UNC doesn't play in your SEC that you assured us would win.
Are you really and honestly suggesting that beating UGA is less impressive(or the same as) than beating UNC?

Usuck didn't handle LSU running straight at them last year and the linebackers are gone now you face probably the best duo in the country. Georgia wins at home

Handle Gurley and Marshall both last year. So I guess what LSU did doesn't matter as far it pertains to UGA. Keep wishing but your big win looks a lot less impressive after we beat the same UGA team in their house and by more than a fields goal.

We lost lattimore, Cunningham, Tj, and ace from last years off. Between Mike Davis, and Brandon Wilds our running game will be as good or better than last years. Shaq Roland showed the potential to be that guy to replace ace just like last year when we had to wait for Ace to replace Alshon. We have prob got the best duo (not individual) of TEs in the nation. Our OL has never looked this good. Not even early vs teams like ECU or Vandy. Shaw, Ellington, and Anderson accounted for 21 of 35 of last years points against UGA and all those guys are still with us.

Not going to happen. UGA will win this game by 10+. If it was in Cootlumbia, I think USuC would have a shot, but Murray will have a field day between the hedges and Gurley will run for 150. I wish there was a way they could both lose this game, but I dislike the chickens slightly more than the Dawgs.

Talking about a schedule being a joke. Who besides UGA, SC, and FSU do you play? UGA does reload but you don't replace that much of a def and play a good first game. By the time you roll into to cola you will be soft cause you won't have had any competition in over a month which is why you will lose again. As far UGA offense goes well the Clemson def speaks for itself. Big plays are apart of the game so those don't change the stats in my opinion. Clemson has lived off the big play for the last few years. Should we not count those in the stats???

I don't see anyone else in your schedule that seems imposing. Go ahead and chalk beating a poorly executing UNC team to UGA. Big plays are of course a part of it, but sustained drives are more about imposing your will than a missed tackle or two breaking off a huge run.
Funny, we hadn't had any competition this off-season and seemed to do fine.

Your def didn't do fine. You won a shootout. And you line our schedule up vs yours id pick Tenn, vandy, ark, and miss st to beat anyone you play besides the 3 teams I named in earlier post. According to you tiger fans Tenn and Florida and all them are on the way back to put SC in its rightful place or do y'all only use that logic when it helps your argument. We played who we had and we beat them the way we should have. We got up 17-0 and went into cruise control to stay healthy and conserve the playbook. Anyone who knows football can see we did not use our TEs at all nor did we pass to our RBs. Both are things we did a lot last year. All 3 TDs came from 2 sophomores and a true freshmen. The other 2 fgs came from a true freshmen. Also played about 6 freshmen on def for experience cause we knew we had the game in hand. Last week was about getting some film and seeing what needed to be worked on.

That's what happened to your defense. Those stats don't lie.
Clemson had more 3-and-outs. Clemson shut down Murray through the air. We may have even had more sacks.
"Tune in Saturday and see what happens when UGA plays a real def"
Ouch...
And finally: http://www.tigernet.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=14261350 "If UGA wins I'll come eat my crow and never post here again"
I hope you like crow, cause you got a lot to eat before you never post here again.

You guys just want your win to look better just as SC pulled for UGA so we would look better. As far as ESPN goes and the SEC homer crap, I am a Gamecock fan only but I also see the good in SEC teams winning because it makes my team look better when you play a strong schedule. I believe UGA could easily lose to us, LSU, Florida, and Tenn this year. Your def wasn't good at the end of last year and it did not look good Saturday night. I know your couple 3-outs got you hyped and I'll admit that you did show potential but at the end of the game you won the games which is the ultimate goal but the numbers don't lie win or lose.

Unless Georgia plays very inspired, rolls offensively I don't think they'll win-even at home.We made their defense look better than it is. You would think the dawgs will play balls to the wall but I gave up predicting long ago though. This game should tell a lot more about the gamecocks.
