Heck I would take the Big 12 now that they will have two more east coast teams. I'm sure could get GT or FSU to leave the ACC ##### show too.

The ACC has not been very good for a long time (other than Clemson). In some ways it hurts Clemson and in other ways it has opened the door to great things for the Tigers. At some point, there will be a couple super conferences and Clemson will be a member. What's left of the ACC will be no more than a MAC, Sunbelt or Conference USA member.

They don't want to go anywhere. The weakness of the ACC is what allowed Dabo to build the program to the point that has been seen the last few years. He is a great recruiter anyway, but when one can rack up wins in a weak conference, it sure makes things easier. Sure, some matchups in a better conference would be attractive to the fans, but then if you don't win at the same rate, that wouldn't sit well. Plus, I think the schedule gives Clemson an advantage come playoff time.

No doubt that the weak teams help Clemson, but it can also hurt Clemson when or if it comes down to a SOS comparison. It’s not a matter of it being an off year for the ACC. This has been going on for years and doesn’t look like it will improve any time soon.
Other than Clemson, no other school carries its weight in football. And Clemson has always been treated like a red-headed step-child by the Tobacco Road yahoos in Greensboro.
