Funny (true) Dog Tag Story..

Feb 26, 2022, 2:09 PM

Recently ordered 2 dog tags (1 has a little different info like blood type, DOB & Allergy) on a nice military grade chain so to wear when camping, boating or riding bike by myself.

Well, as many know I went to Beaufort earlier this week and didn’t bring them and i was worried.

Fast follow to today when I texted & sent pics of both tags to my 2 grow children..and Daughter said I should have put her as contact along with her cell number in MBeach since Attorney Son in Davidson area never answers “incoming” calls on his cell number.

Texted him what she said and he said to have another tag made and put..

“Contact: TIGERNET.com”.

Ha..how true but I’d worry that the people who TD me or oppose my politics wouldn’t respond during an emergency! LOL

Do you have ID Dog Tags?

Oops..see the TD & Political Meanies Arrived. Ha..

I lost a set in the Song Ve river in Nam

And the field hospital must have discarded the set laced in my jungle boots that they cut off my feet. Went straight to Walter Reed after that so mine were never replaced.

trip home from Fort hood Texas in 1965 to good ole Greenville

Sitting looking at mine now that I wore in Viet Nam.

Last Name
Initials (JB)
0111186 (Serial Number before they started using social security #) A (blood type)
USMC M (for Male)
Presbyterian

On my chain, in addition to my dog tag I wore a C-Ration opener and part of a fuse that I got from artillery round that we found during a mine sweep.

I was thinking the ones I was issued in 1969 had my 8 digit service number ( of course I was Army) which I still remember like it was yesterday. But, speaking of yesterday, I had the darndest time remembering the name of the road that I grew up on (but that was before they decided to name roads in my area so it was named after I moved away).

grade (1971) during the Vietnam War. (Younger guys will have to google what those were). I cannot remember the name on it at the moment, it will probably hit me 5 mins after I post....

One of those things stashed in a closet somewhere. I wore it all through high school.

I remember when Dabo first took command the flack you got from supporting the hire from the folks who went to STS and came back here to spew their venom. They dropped your pulse to 99 and we had a 'Bring LbB back TU party. Member?
