FSU RB Dalvin Cook under investigation for battery

Jul 10, 2015, 2:49 PM

Could be something, could be nothing.

The article- Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is under investigation for the battery of a 21-year-old woman outside of a Tallahassee bar on June 23.

State Attorney Willie Meggs said Friday he has not brought any charges against Cook at this time, but the matter is still being reviewed.

In a heavily redacted police report obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat, the victim was listed as intoxicated and suffered minor abrasion/bruises from the incident, which occurred outside of Clyde’s & Costellos on South Adams Street.

The victim’s name and personal information were listed in the report, but the report does not have a suspect listed. The victim was able to identify the suspect to police.

Names of two other witnesses — a male and female — were listed in the report, but redacted.

The victim plans to press charges, according to the report, and could not be reached for comment by the Tallahassee Democrat.

The incident occurred the day before former FSU freshman quarterback De’Andre Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery after police said he punched a woman at Yianni’s nightclub.

I'm sure it was "consensual" battery.

Even if it IS "something," it will wind up being "nothing." It's FSU after all.

Isolated case or a culture of violence?

Jul 10, 2015, 3:01 PM

We thought their old qb was just a bad egg. But this is a pattern emerging. What is going on down there?

Re: FSU RB Dalvin Cook under investigation for battery

No, that's definitely something.

My word, are these guys Vikings? Are they just, like, marauding around the streets and bars of Tally punching women in the face at random? Seems like it, some days.

Yeah, it's a pattern. It's a sense of entitlement. It's a sense that any and all crimes will be swept under the rug by the Tally PD, covered by the University and coaching staff, that witnesses and victims will be pressured into recanting or else have to leave town.

It was exactly the message that got sent when they let Jameis Winston skate...and like I said, it marked FSU as an outlaw institution and there were going to be...consequences.

At some point, if this isn't checked, we aren't going to be reading about girls who got punched in the face, we're going to be reading about a dead one. Stuff like this has a way of escalating when folks feel like they are above consequences.

Agree

FSU has been a scumbag program since the early '80's

Jul 10, 2015, 4:01 PM

Saint Bobby started the culture and enabled it.....Jimbo is another enabler. I laugh when people act surprised at this stuff out of FSU. If you think this is new you either were too young to remember the 80's and 90's at FSU or you don't follow it closely. I detest them and and Georgia an eyelash less than the Chicken Coop slugs.

wait is that our starting RB?

Jimbo say sweep that one under the rug... She started it.
