If you're not doing it now, winning is not the priority.

Disagree. It depends on injuries and holes. If you don’t have them, then adding one is unnecessary

Add to the depth and strengthen your roster anywhere you can. We can never be too deep. Just make sure the fit the culture and are all in, etc…

Lol did you see that OL? Dabo should go to Pluto to get help if they could. We aren’t above the transfer portal…especially when the personnel you have now aren’t cutting it…but nah…I guess we will continue to be organ donors for other D1 schools….IE: Wisconsin

Georgia had multiple starters on offense & defense from the transfer portal. Including JT Daniels & DK.
The two best players at Ohio State when they kicked our ### last January were transfer players. Fields and the RB that torched us all night.
Alabama uses the transfer portal.
LSU built their team that kicked our ### in the national championship game with portal players. They had at least 10 or 12 starters from the portal including Joe Burrow.

Alot of teams peak in game one.
Don't matter if you go out and lose to Wake. I'm pulling for them this game though!

Neither of those teams would put those scores up against a real defense.

I believe I heard that they have 17. I don’t like building like that and it can work on really bad teams. It appears to have really helped FS though.

As long as you are referring to it helping FSU, because there is a big difference between FSU and Clemson. There are 10 times the number of players that come through the portal that will help them compared to us. The player 1: has to be better than we have at the position and 2: needs to come without baggage.
Players tend to transfer because A: they are not playing or B: because there was a problem at their last school. That means there might be 2 or 3 a year that might interest the coaching staff. I hope that we are looking into these players and pursuing them if appropriate but people should keep in mind that the portal isn't full of players that we want.
For the person that mentioned going to the portal for depth, how many players that are not satisfied with playing time are going to come to a school where they are not going to get the playing time. For the one that mentioned that UGA, LSU and Alabama take transfers, they are willing to take the problem child, and they will generate a scholarship by pulling the scholarship of somebody that isn't cutting it on the field regardless of what they are doing in the classroom and off the field. If Dabo did that we might be better at football, but would we really be a better program?

Dabo would rather save those positions for walk-ons and feel good stories. The same goes for JUCO.

Yep. Bringing in all of those average Joe's from Daniel high school seems to be getting our A##es kicked in the playoffs here lately. 0-3 in our last games against elite competition?? We should just keep doing what we are doing. In a result driven profession he is tearing it up!!????

There is no doubt the transfer portal can work.
It works both ways
How much better were we on defense without Kendrick Saturday night compared to the Ohio State game?
Dabo prefers to get kids out of High School and always has. It has worked to build the program that we have.
The reality is we should be looking for a younger oline player or two in the portal that fits our program next offseason. I don’t think Dabo will be stubborn iif the right guys are out there. We are very deep with talented players at every other position with our current players and next years commits who will sign early.
