They have upgraded several positions on both sides of the ball. If these guys all pan out, they will be a really tough out next year... particularly if we dont get our offense in sync.

Until you can answer that, or start one and let us know how much you offered, and we know other schools are offering 6-7 figures to players, how do you know we can match that?

Striper...collectives are well known. Public knowledge. I must start one to know?????? Or give to one???? Not doing either disqualifies me from knowing ppl that have insights to that kind of info??? You're a great poster...but I don't get that logic....
Long-time IPTAY (and Gator Booster member). Remarkedly, both schools are behind in the NIL game. I know plenty of CLEM(IPTAY) folks who can fork up the cash and will...and some HAVE. Money isn't the issue...I can promise you that. When IPTAY rakes in over $70M, you have some resources. Maybe not as many as UGA or UF due to alumni size---but very loyal ones who will step up. Remember, CLEM doesn't have to play the game like A&M or MIA or USC (real one) to succeed. As I've been preaching on here for several years...subtle meaningful changes are all that are needed. Some have already occurred. More is needed and is planned.
Times are a changin. That PSA you see at FB games this fall isn't by accident....

Because other schools are clearly paying big bucks. If we wanted this CB, why can't we outbid FSU? That is, if our collectives have substantial cash on hand.

He's probably a 1 and doner and heading to NFL if he has another good season. (He enrolled at UVA on June of 2019, so he is eligible for NFL draft this year.)

Based on what I saw in the orange bowl against Tennessee, we are definitely not loaded at the DB position. We have been horrible all year and could have lost more games based on that positions play alone. And don’t tell me about injuries. Get some depth to deal with it!!! That’s totally on the coaches.

FSU went 10-3 and have gotten a lot better.
Clemson did not. I guess we still have to wait and see which seniors come back. If Mascoll is the only one, then we are screwed.

So you are saying he was originally good? I believe he had one great game at ND. He never was a great QB. Let’s just chalk it up to a miss in recruiting.
Not sure he would be that great in the FCS.

He was from SC too. If roster spots are unavailable fine...we all know Dabo isn't going to "process" kids but surely a walk on could give up a scholie for a 1 year guy who's going to help the team. I thought walk ons who earned scholarships were year to year anyway. It's seriously confusing on how Clemson is handling the portal.

How folks don't understand this more.
The high end portal prospects:
1. Already know where they are heading.
2. Free Agents going to the highest bidder.
Personally, I'm okay not getting caught up on the NIL spending sprees. Honestly, I hope we split CFB to let those who want to pay players have their league and let those who don't want to partake in the free agency fest be out of this.
I'll root for Clemson either way.

.... Ohio State was the biggest competition. Up until about a week ago most folks who follow this stuff thought OHio State was the leader.
But, he had an official visit to FSU and that seemed to make the difference. All indications are he loved Norvell and the locker room atmosphere.
