I believe FSU is our toughest remaining opponent as of right this moment.
Jordan Travis is a scary player because he keeps his head downfield on scrambles. He also can toast you with his legs.
They are likely also 7-point favorites because of two other things with all that said:
* The game is at FSU.
* Wake just came off an emotional loss; often one loss leads to another if it's not flushed and moved on from.

LSU as it turns out has only lost to FSU. The Tigers might not be all that bad; which means FSU may be pretty dang good.
Duquesne, BC and Louisville - still to be determined on how good they are particularly Louisville.
Unfortunately, I think we took a bunch of wind out of their sails and they go down to Tallahassee still thinking about Clemson and FSU takes care of business.
Plus, Jordan Travis is a really good QB who keeps his eyes downfield on busted plays. So, even if their OL isn't the best, he gives them a chance because of his ability to extend plays.
FSU is at home and coming off a laugher! Probably plenty rested in terms of starters!

I'm leaning towards Florida State also, because I just can't see Wake matching the overall intensity from Saturday and the overall offensive efficency on the road. They have yet to experience this year an environment like they are going to on Saturday. Sure, Wake is capable of winning the game, but my gut tells me Florida State will find a way to get it done.

So true!
You see it in H.S. quite often where a team can seem to hang with the Big Dogs from time to time(if they are capable, if not they just get smashed).
But, teams play above their skill level because the attention to detail and adrenaline is amped up like never before because of the respect they have for the opponent.
That same team in the following weeks can simply come out and lose to a far less talented team; because they don't have the focus, drive, extra adrenaline, attention to detail, and motivation level.
The psychology of sports!
A wake is a veteran unit though - so perhaps they are able to stay focused and regroup! They are capable of beating FSU, no doubt. I just think the game being at FSU and Wake coming off a Clemson loss is going to prove to be too much!

I understand FSU being favored by 7. That is the spread where the money will be equal on both sides.
I'm not a betting guy. But, if I were a betting guy, and if I were not emotionally attached to this game, I'd take Wake and 7. Beating LSU, and two bottom ACC teams was unexpected for us in August. But, it doesn't mean we are a TD better than Wake.

It's about as much of a coin flip game as you can get in the ACC. They're both solid teams. But my gut is telling me to pick FSU just because their defense is better. It'll be a good measuring stick of where FSU is at and is going to be a very exciting game no doubt.

I will be pulling for Wake but my gut feeling is FSU wins a close game. It is hard to go on the road after what was a heartbreaking loss and win against a good team.

okay, you got me.
I really just want FSU to win so they are undefeated when we play them. It will be like old times all over again. Wake wasn't in the picture then; so despite the fact I like Clawson, I think FSU wins.
