JK No point really. Just thought it interesting and a little concerning.
Just like the facilities arms race. NIL is the new arms race. Hope we don’t get left behind.

It’s confirmation of what only a few of us have been saying all along.

Dabo is not interested in getting into that rat race. And he doesn’t have to.
He’s going to do it his way, and he will win.

CANNOT keep up NIL. We don't have the alumni base and the resources to keep pace. If things continue as they are now it's inevitable that Clemson gets left behind.

Then that’s a reason to focus on what we’re good at, instead of playing a losing game.
Clemson will NOT be left behind.
It’s crazy that people do not understand this.

I'm not sure it will be effective enough to keep us in the upper echelon of title contenders, but it does feel like our best bet.

100% - we dont have the alumni base, financial resources, etc to try to run that race with the likes of TX A&M, TX, SoCal, Ohio St, Bama, UGA, OREGON, etc.. Dabo knows that, he HAS to run a different race to have a chance to win and I am 100% with him. We run it his way and if we lose, then at least we have our soul.

They won't get that far left behind. Heck they still finished 10th this year during the first year with NIL and after losing countless recruits after BV left. That says all I need to know about Clemson. Not to mention there's only a handful of schools that will hog all the NIL stuff and we saw most of it this year with the Texas schools. But yet, we still pulled the best player out of Texas didn't we? It is what it is, Clemson isn't going anywhere....except back to the CFP's.

TigersAndCubs is spot on. Clemson does not have oil money like Texas. Shady coaches like Dumbo Fisher and Kirby not so Smart will come out on top.

Listen to the whole interview. It’s amazing how these writers can take snippets and turn it into something negative. If a recruit just reads her post they’ll think well I can’t make money at Clemson.
What Dabo did say is they are creating a space for these players to maximize NIL and that they have created a team to help these players. He understands NIL is here and these players need to learn how to use it safely and effectively.

very pro-Clemson. I don't think the intention was negative, or positive, just relaying info. I personally like Dabo's stance.
In the new NIL era, I fully believe that we can recruit some of the best #1's on our team, equal to any SEC team. The fear and some of what we have seen with this past season, our #2's and 3's aren't at the same level. Maybe they are 2 and 3 star quality.
Especially this past season, We may not be Too Deep.
The biggest question for CFB, are these enormous NIL deals a sustainable business model? Can the Texas A&M fan/alumni/support organization afford to shell out $30 Mil year after year? Or is this a gift to Jimbo saying here, happy birthday, now let's see what you can do with it.
Their NIL deal in texas isn't the same as staring in a Dr. Pepper or Upstate car commercial.

Appropriate that her name is Grace, because Dabo sure shows her a lot of grace by still taking her stupid questions.

I believe that is the way that NIL was intended to be implemented

but that's also not going to keep Clemson in the NIL arms race. Creating a support system for these players to maximize their NIL opportunities is certainly noble and the way I wish all programs would approach NIL.
The reality of course is much darker. It's Texas A&M (and others of course) just straight up buying players and laundering the payments through the system as NIL deals.

Man, I love me some Twitter. I didn’t join for years because I thought it would be too expensive. I finally broke down and joined this month and it’s opened up a whole new world.
Any suggested follows?

I guess that’s part of the reason I like it. I was never invited to small parties, so my comfort zone is the big ones with a bunch of people who don’t know me. Just yesterday, I was able to communicate with Patrick Reed. Where else can that happen?

Stop chasing this NIL rocket. The coaches are beginning to see that this thing is unsustainable and will crash and burn.

I hope you're right, and the cash cows don't see a return on their investment. But there's likely to always be someone with more money than sense.
