Friday Story To Start Your Day Off Right!

My family and I live in Upstate SC. Had a new family move into the neighborhood recently from Utah. We were out walking the dog one evening, the new neighbors were outside, so we stopped to welcome them to the neighborhood. I noticed he had a BYU sticker on his car, and of course I had my Clemson shirt on, so the conversation quickly moved to sports. They had lots of positive comments about Clemson and even said that most of the people they knew in Utah were pulling for Clemson in the championship games in recent years.
After a few minutes, the new neighbor's 10-year-old son came outside wearing of all things a USuCk t-shirt. I threw up in my mouth a bit. My first instinct was to throw my water on the kid, but I kept my cool.
The dad noticing the perplexed look on my face laughed and said, "When the wife and I were visiting the area to find a house, we stopped at the mall and I found this T-shirt on the markdown rack. Should have been my first clue that I was buying the wrong shirt."
I told the young man that if he wanted to grow up and have a happy and successful life and marry the right woman, he needed to consider not wearing those colors again.
To make certain I close the loop on this matter, and to ensure the young man does not accept a life of misery and mediocrity, I have purchased the young lad a new Clemson T-shirt and will be delivering it during our nightly walk this evening.
It takes a village to raise a child!

Seems pretty legit to me. Coot gear is very often on the marked down sale racks, and the new neighbor probably hasn't been there long enough to really know the negative connotations that come from displays of coot paraphernalia. Maybe we get a follow up in a while telling us how the sone grew up to be a great Clemson Graduate and a very successful and prominent member of society.

You're so right on both topics, it takes a good neighborhood/village to raise kids, and the worst thing for any kid in any village, is for the kid to wear coot clothing!!! Go Tigers!!!!
