Marcus Freeman is straight the man. ESPN recognized him for being the 1st black coach to play for a natty. He responds He just wants good men that are black Asian white...whatever their color to continue to get opportunities. I swear he just became my number to.replace Dabo if and when he decides to hang it up. This dude is building a monster in South Bend. He is selling a message. Never have I ever liked tbe Irish, but man I'm a bandwagon guy for 1 more game!

Hires good staff, built a solid team.
Really good halftime adjustments to scheme around two injured OL starters.
No panic when down 10 early.

The racists always have to point out when a non-white person is “well spoken”…like it’s a big surprise. LOL

Have you watched Deon sanders talk? It’s not a “big surprise” but it’s not the norm either unfortunately. Facts are facts. Quit being sensitive you wuss

I don’t disagree that “well spoken” when talking about a black person has long had racial undertones. However, well spoken when talking about a football coach might be a different story. I don’t think anyone would accuse Jimbo or Coach O of being well spoken.

Was the NIU coach the first black coach to beat ND?
I’m only asking because apparently race matters.

That was really a trap question to ask him post game like that

Because if he says it’s no big deal, certain people will get mad at him. If he says it’s a huge deal and black coaches need more chances, then another group of people get mad at him.
But he handled it about as well as he could have.

I hate Notre dame and I was pulling for them in the playoffs bc of Riley and Freeman. After the post game interviews leading up to and tonight’s I only hope they win it all. Both are great people and deserve the platform they have. I’m glad they use it to talk about being good people and not the same old lazy takes like dawn who whines about white peoples.

Why would he ever leave ND? They will love him for this year and he's built a great culture up there in South Bend. He's going to be their Dabo.
But I do agree with the sentiment, Marcus Freeman is a heck of a coach and comes off as a great man.

As someone who doesn’t see color, I honestly didn’t even realize he was black.
Looking at their pics now, I’m glad Freeman beat Franklin cause he looks more black

If we go by coot rules, ND is ACC adjacent so any Natty’s of their’s are also ours. We may even get rings.

I grew up a somewhat ND fan, as my grandpa was a proud Irish Catholic and loved the team. As I got older and more in tune with CFB, I grew to hate them and the way they manipulated the system. That hate has carried on for many years. But watching that game last week and again last night, I'm kind of pulling for them a bit (depending on who wins tonight). Marcus Freeman truly seems like a class act (I mean, getting shafted on that PI call and they pan to him and he's just grinning). He seems cool and I really like Riley Leonard - he seems like such a cool kid with a great head on his shoulders. Those two have me sort of leaning their way right now.

that he’s an 0310 state grad. When Day finally gets canned for being a slug he’s their first call. If he can build a winner like this at ND he’s gonna be scary with all of the money that the nutbags pour into football.

I think he is a guy that won't jump from something that he built. Money will not be the factor as Notre Dame can spend with OSU. He was thankful to Notre Dame for taking a chance in him. This guy is wired differently. I dint think he leaves the Irish other than for NFL. That would be a stretch as the NFL simply continues to give retread failures multiple chances and new guys (especially minorities) don't get as many opportunities. I started this post about a man who doesn't make it about color, but here I am talking about tbe entire NFL ownerships that are becoming tbe "old man white club". But I digress, Freeman is really strong as a leader and coach. Top 5 in tbe country in my opinion.

I heard someone last night say that Freeman is causing people who have hated ND for years like them. Pretty spot on if you ask me. I still don’t like ND but I do like Freeman.
