Allegedly "Brentson turned down Dabo earlier in the week?" I guess that's possible but I am not sure I buy that narrative. Frankly, I love Brentson but happier with NE.

It certainly is a little suspect (or telling) because Bates was not confirmed as leaving until this Monday. Could infer some prior notice was given to Dabo if he had time to start interviewing with Bates still hired at CU.

Agreed. Schefty can be a little dramatic at times. The conversation was probably like "would you have any interest at this time? I know you are happy in ARI, but I have a position opening up", "I appreciate the offer coach but I am staying in the pros, I like it here, if I were to leave the NFL my preferred destination would be Clemson". Schefty's tone makes it sound like Buck told him to pound sand.

So, is Auburn going to have to pay Brentson $800K+ to get him to come to Auburn? I would assume that we would've offered him at least $715K (Bates salary after his pay raise). I assume Nick is going to get at least $750K, if not more at Clemson. Not sure if Buck even wants to coach in college.

Im not saying it isnt going to happen but Schefty is a shill. You dont think he pays back his actual sources with reporting that such and such is being interviewed for whatever so they can get a raise exactly where they are? I bet it happens a lot.
