For you youngsters...In '89 in Tallahssee, during the first

half, FSU ran a fumblerooskie where the center laid the ball on the ground, the guard picked it up and ran around the end for a huge play. This was illegal. You could no longer put the ball on the ground like that, but the refs missed it. As I recall, in the second half they ran it again, and we recovered, but I believe they said the play was dead when the FSU player put if on the ground. We still won.

One more reason not to fret if they call it.

fumble rooskie. Two times. NOT A PUNTROOSKIE that the ran in Death Valley. I was at both games. In Tallahassee, I held my 2 year old daughter on my shoulders the entire game for two reasons. The first being that the sorry ### wooden bleachers were very splintery, and second, they were the old school kind where she could have fallen through them all the way to the ground.

they were stopped short of the goal and BB called a time out that he didn't have on the books. The refs stopped the clock and gave them a five yard penalty which, to my memory, was a game changer. Seems I remember they didn't have time on the clock to spike the ball nor did they have time to field their kicking team. There is not penalty for calling a time out, if you don't have a time out to call, officials just don't stop the clock. We were ahead when the flustercluck (two wrong calls) officiating errors occurred. I thought we had Lenny Wortz calling that game.

A field goal from inside the five on the hash marks is not a given. That was where the ball was spotted on the illegal running play for the big gain. We got bent over without lube. Time has a way of twisting details so this needs to be researched and to verify my memory.

Osceola rode out. He knew it was payback for the year before in The Valley.
