The Judge will be too busy on the tour to post stuff. Safe travels...

Isn't it great that our basketball coach gets to pick a country that he has always wanted to visit, get to see the E. Tower, etc that is on his bucket list, and do all this annually on the University's dime? I am so happy Clemson can make his dreams come true. It's not like he couldn't afford it with his many millions he makes and has made from Clemson for producing a mid-tier ACC team.
While I am happy for the experience for our team and the extra legal coaching is beneficial, but Brad's interview really struck a nerve with me. He was talking about a vacation, seeing sights, being afraid of heights, etc. There was very little in the interview about the team and the benefits of travel games and how it will build a better team. Basically interview was all about his interest in France, but the guys get to hang out together and Hall will get to travel too! But let's talk about my excitement to go to France some more. Unless I only saw a snippet of the interview, I was noticing the lack of basketball talk and more about him and a great vacation he was looking forward too.
Maybe it's just me, but I think he should be talking about team development for upcoming season if he wants to keep his job and not about being afraid of heights.

Brownell should have taken the team to the Bronx and played in the street ball tournaments.

If what you got from his comments is that the trip isn't about basketball, but about sightseeing and spending time together as a team, I don't know what to tell you.
The main thrust of these trips, which thankfully we do as often as is allowed, is to give the team more time to practice. As Brad stated in the interview, in a normal year the summer is more for individual work, whereas these summers when we are allowed to travel internationally the focus is on team coaching and installing our system. It's invaluable for the entire team, especially the new players.
And yes, of course the team chemistry aspect is important.

Only allowed to travel on an international tour. University does not fund the entire trip. And check the team's record after making one of these tours. You will be surprised. It is a team building exercise. Extra practice to prepare for the trip. In the past, players have received one hour of academic credit.

I wish I was going to Normandy! To go with the team (not possible I understand) would be awesome. I hope they all get to visit the many memorials there for those who gave their lives for our freedom. I imagine there are a number of Clemson men buried there. I'm so glad that my Dad wasn't one of them.
Go Tigers!
