For those of us who purchased tickets to the ACC Champ. game

Dec 4, 2020, 12:13 PM

I have been to every ACC Championship game going back to when Clemson played GA Tech in Florida. Since its been in Charlotte, each summer I bought them ahead of time, gambling that our Tigers will make it to that game, and sat in the same seats. This year I even decided to improve my seats. Now I spoke with the ACC official that I bought them from this summer. I'm not mad at him, he's just doing his job. But the impression I got was that a decision will be made/announced by December 9. Unless the Gov of North Carolina changes the seating capacity percentage from 7% capacity then we will be issued a refund.

This article gives me a glimmer of hope, in that if they allowed it for Panther games, then they could allow it for the ACC Championship game.

"...For Bank of America Stadium, that means the team can have 5,240 at Panthers games, as they have had for the previous three home games since Oct. 4.

However, the team received an exemption from the governor’s office, per Mecklenburg County, to go beyond that limit and host an increased number of fans in the 500 level of the stadium — the upper deck."

Am I the only one who thinks extra fans in the upper deck instead of the prime seats is to make sure it looks like there aren't many fans in the stands to the people watching on tv?

If you can increase attendance, what other reason could there possibly be to do it in the seats that would generate the least income with the addition?

helped to make it a success in Charlotte all these years by supporting ticket sales so early (before the season even starts). If you don't have people buying out the family 4 packs in the upper deck you don't increase the the likelihood of buying the remaining tickets at a higher price.

never states the number, then says they just moved some of the original number up there. What passes for journalism these days...............

The Carolina Panthers increased attendance for the first time this season at Bank of America Stadium for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Panthers announced that the official paid attendance for the game was 5,815. Under North Carolina's Phase 3 plan, which was extended Tuesday to go through Dec.

I like many have been a speculative buyer every summer as I'm offered the opportunity to buy the same 8 tickets every year in section 225. I was also hoping to receive some type of reward by the Charlotte sports foundation for doing so but it sounds like the tickets will be split between the schools and the loyalty buyers will receive a refund. I'm ok with that as long as it is in fact the schools that are splitting the tickets and not distributed to large Corporations.
