The coots had a clown too.

Most cliché saying ever

Sep 23, 2014, 8:58 PM

Obviously. It drives me nuts when people say things like this that are pointless. We lose and Facebook blows up with "I'm still a tiger fan and I always will be", or "I'd rather lose a tiger than win a gamecock", or "at least we have class"

Is anyone really feeling like people expect you to drop your team just because they lost? Like who needs to verify their commitment to their team? Lmao

any team. Anyone that watched that game Saturday night and didn't feel VERY optimistic about our immediate future is an idiot, a ####### coot troll or both. We won the battle in the trenches and the game was lost by mistakes made by young players for the most part. Very correctable mistakes. We have a GREAT, coaching staff and very talented young kids that are of high character too. I haven't been this optimistic with realistic expectations since 1989-90.The future is bright. We finished 7th in the nation last year. So what if we lost to the coots five seasons. Last season was gift wrapped for them. We have beaten LSU, Ohio State, an OSU that was led by Urban Legend. And beaten Auburn 2-3 the past few seasons. The coots haven't beaten Auburn since 1932. Stevil won 25 games thru his first 7 seasons at USuCk. Things will get back to normal with SCAR. We and Dabo are still ascending and Stevil has already peaked and is descending. Bank on it

I think it's so ironic that no Tiger fan ever mentioned high character Clemson coaches or players during the Danny Ford glory years of the 1980's. The last time I looked, the Super Bowl winner doesn't get the Billy Graham trophy, do they? I just have to laugh at some of you guys who believe that nobody ever beats Clemson, "we just beat ourselves". Now I agree about Saturday night, but if you really believe that no team ever beats the Tigers, but instead Clemson is always beating themselves, then don't blame the announcers for using the term "pulling a Clemson", or whatever it is they say. Why not start a new graveyard, with all of the "we beat ourselves" tombstones? By the way, winning the battle in the trenches also includes the offensive line.....and that certainly didn't happen. You are right about very correctable mistakes, but not just by the young players...coaches too!

Why are you talking about the past history, coot?

Sep 23, 2014, 11:20 PM

We are looking at the present and the future, which is very bright at Clemson.

Because, tater, most Clemson fans nowadays love to talk about the past, and with good reason.

Re: Why are you talking about the past history, coot?

Sep 23, 2014, 11:35 PM

Because Clemson fans actually have a past (beyond five years ago) to talk about? I'll remind you that last year is also "the past" and your time is up in November, coot.

Re: Why are you talking about the past history, coot?

Glad you brought that up! Clemson: 13 ACC titles from 1956-1991. That's one ACC Championship for every 2.8 years. Truly an incredible streak, don't you think? 1992-2014? One ACC title in 2011. That's one for 22 years. By any rational measure of comparison, one can easily see the difference. That, sir, is Clemson's glorious past.....not present. As for "my time" being up in November, well I've heard that brave, but shaky voice of false confidence for 5 autumns running. We can agree on this, though. Give Dabo, and his complete staff, another 10 or 20 year extension, and while you're at it make them all the highest paid staff in the nation, if they already aren't. See, then you'll be happy, and I'll be happy.
