For shame Louisville, for shame!

Sep 18, 2015, 10:03 AM

All I could do was stare in amazement as with 2:29 to go a sea of black exited the stadium. You would have thought they'd just announced a latenight rerun of the Kentucky Derby or something because it looked like everyone in black was bailing. I turned to another Clemson fan and asked in disbelief, "where's everyone going?" He replied, "probably going to get beer." I just shook my head and thought, there's no way that many people are going to beer served to them before this game is over. 30 seconds later the stadium was half empty.

For shame Louisville for shame. I know yall have had it rough so far, losing to an auburn squad you should have beat and getting a big surprise from a sneakily good Houston team. BUT! Come on man! You quit on your team with over 2 min left in the game! Against a team that wasn't dominating on offense and a quarter back that had already thrown two picks. When Louisville got the ball back with over a minute to go all I could think was, we can't lose this game when their fans just quit on their team, for the love of God!!! Not with half the stadium empty!!! (Insert log pass to get the Cards into field goal range) -sigh-

But Clemson did prevail and Louisville is now 0-3, their loyalty will be under serious strain going forward so maybe they were just practicing. One Louisville fan, one of two left in my section as the game ended told me, "we're just not used to this yet, we'll get better (referring to fans)" I just shook my head and thought "I hope so." I think every Clemson fan is rooting for Louisville to help strengthen the ACC. I know fans don't catch passes, rush up the middle or make tackles but the negative funk around that stadium was real and it can be pervasive on a teams psyche. Pick your heads up Louisville fans, get some backbone, stay in your seats and start willing your team to some victories.

P.S. All the Louisville fans were awesome before and after the game. Nice, chatty, helpful. Definitely hope they all come down to Clemson next year.

Go Tigers!

Music, fire extinguishers, losing ...

Louisville and the coots know how to turn

a black out into a silver out in a hurry. I wasn't aware there was a competition to see who is faster though. Interesting.

The same thing happened at Clemson. We were playing SC at home and everyone left. Then Rod Gardner made the "push off catch" and we beat the Coots! We were sitting on the North side and we were almost completely alone.

Oh yeah, you noticed one of our warts. It was the same casual fans that got to their seats mid-way into the 1st quarter. Last to arrive. First to leave. It drives us hard core fans crazy. That being said, it's a weeknight game and I understand that folks are trying to beat the main rush to get to their car, pick up the kids from the babysitter and get home and get them to bed for school in the morning.

It still happens on a Saturday, but not to the degree you saw last night. Now we were on the upperdeck. We may have appeared to be leaving but during a timeout we rushed down to the lower bowl to finish off the game sitting closer to the field in prime seats. It cuts our clearing of the stadium time in half by being down low LOL.
