I would personally like for Ohio State to get left out because F'em. But in that scenario I'd assume real USC would probably be left out.

I think Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama would be a lock but it would be a very interesting choice between OK State and USC. I'd personally go with USC and since the LA market is so big, I think there would be a big push to include them, especially since we haven't had a West Coast representative in quite some time.

USC has not been relative in football for a long time so I think that feeds into it. If they get back to the John Robinson days, they will become relevant again and the fan base will show up.

Great question. For Clemson's benefit we need NC State, Wake, NS, and Syracuse to keep winning and stay ranked all season. Clemson cannot lose a game.
Gets a lot more complicated if both Bama and UGA make the playoff like last year.
Assuming Ohio State gets in for the Big 10, the committee would have a definite problem picking from 3 undefeated conference champs to fill a single spot. I am not for one second assuming 1 of the SEC teams would be left out because it would never happen.
Then it all boils down to resume and head to head games. USC and Clemson both play ND so those results will be compared.
If the season ended today and teams ended up ranked as they are today, Clemson would have defeated 3 ranked opponents. OK State would have defeated 4 ranked opponents, and USC 3. Keep an eye on UCLA because if they win out they have 3 ranked wins one of which being #7 USC.
Seems the media wants USC in the playoff. All Clemson can do is keep winning and wait on a few of these teams to lose. I think it is possible that Bama loses to Tenn and Miss State so then the odds of the SEC getting 2 teams in drop significantly. Odds of Ok State, USC and or UCLA all going undefeated seems long in my opinion.

Neither scenario is likely, but I think 0 undefeated teams is more likely than 5 undefeated teams.

Can't argue with you Bret but I'm more inclined to believe we will have at least one or two undefeated. If that's the case 1 loss teams will be in fist fights trying to get those other two spots.

Depends on how the teams finish the season. Winning out convincingly in every game will help more than barely squeaking out every win.
