For me, the biggest concern about this football season is

Oct 24, 2021, 3:43 PM

it’s effect on future recruiting and commits. Anyone else have this concern?

Not me. Commits have great opportunity to play

right away. In fact, Alabama not get Arch because Bryce Young is a true freshman. With Corral leaving, Ole Miss may get him.

Thinking the same thing, hope Cade doesn’t decommit but I think he’s all in. He talked about waiting to get the offer from Clemson to jump on it

Cade will be our starter next year as a Freshman, I hope.

That guy better hit the weights hard, because he might get injured fast with his build if he starts as a true frosh.

DW4 seemed made of glass at first. In 2014 breaking a finger against Louisville, missing 3 games, comes back and tears his knee just running down the field against GT.

But in the Bama games he absorbed their attempts to knock him out of the game by repeatedly targeting his head. And they were vicious. (No calls, natch).

True, but DW4 has always been tough as nails. He is as tough as it gets and can take a beating.

I feel good about the commits, but no so much about future WR's or TE's.

Arch is gone to Ole Miss already. With Kiffin at the helm they are going to be pretty good.

Success attracts success, so the L’s will not help attract recruits. We can withstand a clunker of a season, but not more than one before the slide becomes hard to stop.

DJ should enter next season as starter. Dabo should look to add a competent 1 year QB through the portal for depth and/or a chance to compete for QB1. Cade will be the future, but we are seeing what happens if a QB is pushed in too soon. TP to portal.

I feel ok about WR. Ngata will be a stud if he can stay on the field. Assuming Ross is gone, Ladson or EJ should be serviceable, again, if healthy. We still need a quality Amari/Artavis guy. Maybe that is Stellato or a transfer. My guess is that we lose at least one receiver to the portal.

TE will be an afterthought again. I’d lock Ajou in the weight room and try to build him into Kyle Pitts by the time he graduates.

OL should have the Help Wanted sign out front, hopefully this is it for Caldwell and we can bring in an experienced guy with an NFL background and some recruiting cache. Some thinning could be done on the roster and 1-2 upperclassmen via portal for quality depth.

RB should improve with another year. Need to line up a 5 star in the 2023 very badly since it looks like we’ll whiff on the position this class.

All in all, I’m pretty bullish on 2022, if we can take in enough talent through the portal to replace what we lose. This doesn’t need to be the top O in the country but realistically we need to make huge strides to compete in the playoffs.

Very concerned about this

Oct 24, 2021, 6:28 PM

We have been in the “elite” conversation for the last 6 years. Recruits care about it. Words like “a Bama” or “a Clemson” meaning way above the rest. The cream of the crop want to be in the big show. We will pay for this. Dabo may have to get back to square one to rebuild this.

We will be just fine. All In. The sky is is not falling.***
