Not to old to cut the mustard

Sep 22, 2021, 8:04 AM

Went to Maggie Valley with some riding buds last week. Part of a yearly meeting of a CVO club with about 50 in attendance. Usually includes a day trip to the Dragon. At almost 75, I'm the oldest of the group but can still hang with them. Still to tight to buy the digital download, so I get the low res freebee

Lookin’ good! Whoah, it’s been TOO long since we rode - would’a swore your scooter was orange!

imho: The Dragon is cool, but it’s a ‘been there, done that, got the coozie’ experience. Give me the Parkway (or Cherohala Skyway nearby) and “Let that big dog V Twin eat through faster, longer, and more SWEEPING turns”!

Keep keeping the shiny side up brother!

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Cherohala Skyway is an excellent ride. The day that my cousin and I rode through on our bikes, we were above the clouds for part of the ride. That was different.

Yep Bill, the Dragon is way overated. That portion of hwy 80 that we rode from Marion to the Parkway is as good as it gets for a 'Dragon' style road. Like many I much prefer long sweepers and miles of views like the Cherohala. We rode the Skyway before getting on the Dragon.

motorcycle (and a few cars) Museum in Maggie Valley is about as fascinating as it gets. They have a boatload of videos out on the interwebs, check them out.

You said that 76er®. Just so happened that the Cannon Ball Run was at the museum on Thursday for a stop. 118 pre 1930 motorcycles. Plenty of Indians & Harleys but also many I had never heard of.
