Yes, he did, and he has a similar track record of building programs as Kelly, those other two bozos couldn’t build a HS team. Point being it’s easy to win there, especially if you are a competent coach.

Say what you want about Lou Holtz, but he was successful at every school he coached.
How he got players into ND, that nobody else could? That's another topic.
He was a great motivator, especially if you didn't mind a little spit with your pep talk.

I don’t doubt that he can win there. The entire state of Louisiana feels shady to me. Always has. Backwater, good ol’ boy, backroom under the table dealing’, redneck corrupt shady. It’s woven into the fabric of every corner of Louisiana. Shady is who they are. I’m neither here nor there on Brian Kelly, but he doesn’t strike me as shady, therefore I don’t think he’ll fit in. I think he’s making a mistake to go there and I’ll be unsympathetic after he’s willing climbed into the pig pen, when he complains about getting covered in mud.

He will win 2-3 championships there, his issue at Notre Dame is they're very strict with their academic standards.
He has been advocating for new facilities and dropping of academic standards for their athletes and they've been slow on both.

if nd were playing pitt or wake saturday and won they most certainly would get in..but since they are sitting home there is no way they get in if the rest ahead of them win out.
